The NFL has released their offseason schedule for the start of the 2013 season. This schedule lists all the important events between now and the start of the 2013 regular season. Here are some of the more important events this offseason:
January 15, 2013 - Deadline for underclassmen to petition for special eligibility for the 2013 NFL Draft.
January 19, 2013 - East-West Shrine Game, Tropicana Field, St. Petersburg, Florida.
January 26, 2013 - Senior Bowl, Ladd-Peebles Stadium, Mobile, Alabama.
February 2, 2013 - Texas vs. Nation College All-Star Game, Eagle Stadium, Allen, Texas.
February 20-26, 2013 - Combine Timing and Testing, Lucas Oil Stadium, Indianapolis, Indiana.
March 9-11, 2013 - Clubs are permitted to enter into contract negotiations with certified agents of players who will be Unrestricted Free Agents at the end of the current League Year.
March 12, 2013 - The 2013 League Year and Free Agency period begin at 4:00 p.m., New York time.*
March 17-20, 2013 - Annual League Meeting, Phoenix, Arizona
April 25-27, 2013 - NFL Draft, New York City, New York
May 20-22, 2013 - NFL Spring Meeting, Boston, Massachusetts
September 5, 8-9, 2013 - NFL Kickoff 2013
* March 12 2013 will mark the beginning of the 2013 League Year. Prior to the 4:00pm ET deadline, teams must submit qualifying offers to Restricted Free Agents, submit minimum salary offer to retain exclusive negotiating rights to players without three seasons of free agency credit, exercise 2013 options on players with option in their 2012 contracts. Teams must also be under the salary cap by 4:00 pm, using the Top 51 rule. Trading and free agency negotiations may start at 4:00pm.
