Saturday Night Random Live Thread Football Live Thread - Falcons at Detroit

The NFL moves Monday Night Football to Saturday night this week due to Christmas eve being Monday. The game tonight features the Atlanta Falcons at the Detroit Lions.

USA TODAY Sports

With Christmas Eve on Monday, the NFL has moved their normal Monday Night Football contest to tonight, with the Atlanta Falcons visiting the Detroit Lions. The Falcons are currently sitting at 12-2 and in the top spot of the NFC's playoff seeding, while the Lions, who were expected to be a playoff bound team, and possible Super Bowl contender this year, are mired at 4-10, tied with the Philadelphia Eagles for the worst record in the NFC.

However, that does not mean this game is meaningless for the Lions. Wide receiver Calvin Johnson is just 182 yards off the single season receiving yardage record set by Jerry Rice in 1995. Johnson has two games to make up that difference, but it's not impossible that he gets it done tonight. The Falcons are 17th against the pass this season, and, while they typically struggle against tight ends, Johnson is not a normal wide receiver. The Lions could look to feed him the ball all game long, just to try to get the record - or at least be within striking distance early next week.

As usual, keep pictures to a minimum, and appropriate, in a live thread. I will remove pictures that are inappropriate and they can lead to warnings and/or bannings.

Do not request or post links to illegal internet streams of the game (instant temporary ban if you do).

Enjoy the game!
