The Miami Dolphins found their rushing attack late in the second quarter against the New England Patriots, leading to a touchdown with 25 second left. The score cut the New England lead to 17-10.
Rookie quarterback Ryan Tannehill, who is 7-for-14 for 69 yards on the day, scored the Miami touchdown on a 2-yard bootleg. New England's Tom Brady is 15-for-26 for 154 yards, with a touchdown and an interception. Safety Reshad Jones came away with the pick.
Wide receiver Wes Welker has been doing most of the damage against the Miami defese, already with 10 receptions for 89 yards and a touchdown against his former team.
Miami has relied on a balanced attack, with 68 passing yards and 73 rushing yards so far. Reggie Bush is leading the way for Miami with eight carries for 45 yards. Brian Hartline has three receptions for 34 yards.
The Dolphins are being killed by mistakes, however. They have put the ball on the ground four times, with punter Brandon Fields, fullback Jorvorskie Lane, running back Daniel Thomas, and Tannehill all fumbling. All except Tannehill's were recovered by Miami, but the team is still killing itself with the mistakes.
The Dolphins have been penalized six times for 59 yards in the half.
New England receives the ball at the start of the third quarter.
