The Miami Dolphins have placed running back Daniel Thomas on injured reserve. The move ends Thomas' season after 91 carries for 325 yards and four touchdowns. Thomas injured his knee on a hard run against the Jacksonville Jaguars on Sunday.
Thomas joins tight end Charles Clay, who was placed on injured reserve yesterday, and tackle Jake Long, who was placed on IR two weeks ago, as players unable to finish the season for the Dolphins.
To fill the roster spot vacated by Thomas, the Dolphins signed defensive back Julian Posey from their practice squad. Posey has spent the past 10 weeks with the Dolphins after spending 2011 and the 2012 preseason with the New York Jets. Posey played four years of college football at the University of Ohio.
The Dolphins filled the practice squad vacancy by signing defensive back Dion Turner.
