Miami Dolphins linebacker Koa Misi has a sprained ankle, according to a Ben Volin source. Misi was injured during the Dolphins contest against the San Francisco 49ers on Sunday. Misi was injured during the third quarter of the game, missing the rest of the contest.
Once Misi was out of the game, the Dolphins' run defense degraded. Although he is often criticized for his lack of big plays, Misi has proven to be a solid run stuffing linebacker, and the Dolphins clearly missed him once he was out of the game. The 49ers tallied 155 rushing yards on Sunday, 117 of them in the second half.
Misi's status for the team's upcoming game against the Jacksonville Jaguars is uncertain. The Dolphins would likely use Austin Spitler or Jason Trusnik if Misi were unavailable.
