The Miami Dolphins have announced the addition of cornerback Michael Coe. Coe joins a Dolphins secondary looking for depth behind starter Sean Smith. The Dolphins face the New England Patriots, and their spread offense, this weekend.
Coe was a fifth round draft choice of the Indianapolis Colts in 2007. After a year with Indy, Coe spent two seasons with the Jacksonville Jaguars before moving to the New York Giants for the past three years. Coe has played 34 games in his career, starting one, with 40 tackles and four passes defensed.
Coe fills out the Dolphins' 53-man roster. Miami had a vacancy after releasing offensive lineman Ryan Durand earlier in the day. Durand spent one week with the Dolphins, but was inactive for last week's game against the Seattle Seahawks.
Miami is currently 5-6 on the year, and in the hunt for the AFC playoffs. They are currently one game behind the Pittsburgh Steelers for the final Wildcard position. The trail the AFC East division leading Patriots by three games.
