Dolphins at Bills Defensive Snap Counts

Yesterday, we took a look at the Miami Dolphins' offensive snap counts from their Thursday night game against the Buffalo Bills. Today, we follow that with the defensive snap counts.

Timothy T. Ludwig-US PRESSWIRE

For the third time in eleven days, the Miami Dolphins lost a game, this time a Thursday night game against their AFC East division rivals, the Buffalo Bills. Once again, the team looked lost out on the field, never able to get into a rhythm, and ultimately lost the game 19-14.

Yesterday, we took a look at the offensive snap counts on the Dolphins' 58 plays. Now, we turn our attention to the defensive side of the ball.

The Dolphins were on defense for 67 snaps Sunday. Here's the breakdown, by position group:

Thoughts:
Nothing really special with the defensive line this week. Strange that Starks played as many snaps as he did, but as long as he is able to generate pressure, and shut down a run up the middle, I won't complain.

Thoughts: Against the Titans, the Dolphins rotated all of their available linebackers into the game, including rookie Josh Kaddu making his debut. This week, they went exactly the opposite, only playing Dansby, Burnett, and Misi, with Dansby and Burnett taking every snap.

Thoughts: The cornerbacks are still in need of help, with this becoming one of the top priorities this offseason. Smith missed time with an injury, meaning more playing time for Wilson. While everyone reported that Carroll was benched for part of the game, he ended up with the same percentage of snaps as against the Titans. Obviously, Carroll needs to fix the penalties issue.
