The Miami Dolphins are trailing the Cincinnati Bengals 6-0 after the first quarter today. The Bengals are beating the Dolphins after two field goals, each following a Miami fumble.
The first Dolphins fumble came on a punt that bounced off of Reshad Jones, who was trying to block for the return. Just before the ball rolled out of bounds, Cincinnati's Vontaze Burfict scooped it up for the recovery.
Then, as the Dolphins attempted to drive down the field and answer the Bengals' field goal, Jorvorskie Lane fumbled at the Cincinnati 11-yard line. As Lane took the handoff and passed the line of scrimmage, Nate Clements came in to make the tackle and hit the ball dead on with his helmet. Terrence Neman recovered the ball.
For the Dolphins, quarterback Ryan Tannehill is 4-for-5 for 49 yards, with a passer rating of 107.5 through one period. Reggie Bush has 12 yards on 5 carries, and Brian Hartline has two receptions on three targets for 22 yards.
Even with the two turnovers, the Dolphins are still one possession away from taking the lead. Hopefully the second quarter is better for Miami than the first.
