The Miami Dolphins played the Cincinnati Bengals last Sunday, coming away with a 17-13 victory. During the game, several players had standout performances, worthy of individual recognition. Quarterback Ryan Tannehill became the first rookie in NFL history to throw for over 1,250 yards and win two games in his first five games. Wide receiver Brian Hartline caught four passes for 59 yards, keeping him atop the NFL's season receiving yards list. Defensive tackle Randy Starks snatched a pass at the line of scrimmage for an interception to go with 3 tackles and 0.5 sacks. Safety Reshad Jones made 7 tackles, and the game sealing interception. Punter Brandon Fields continued his ridiculous ability to change field position no matter where he is on the field, punting five times for an average of 49.6 yards, with a long of 59 yards.
Before we add our Week 5 Game Ball winner, it's time to look back at the first four weeks of the season:
- Week 1 (at Houston Texans): Marcus Thigpen, Punt Returner
- Week 2 (vs Oakland Raiders): Reggie Bush, Running Back
- Week 3 (vs New York Jets): Brandon Fields, Punter
- Week 4 (at Arizona Cardinals): Brian Hartline, Wide Receiver
With over 400 votes, this week's game ball goes to defensive tackle Randy Starks. Starks received 40% of the vote this week.
For the second straight week, quarterback Ryan Tannehill came in second, gaining 32% of the vote this week.
Congratulations to Starks, who has three interceptions in the last six games and tied Arizona's Darnell Dockett and the Minnesota Vikings' Kevin Willins for the lead in career interceptions among active defensive linemen with four.
The Dolphins return home this week to host the St. Louis Rams.
