Miami Dolphins Top 10 Best Draft Picks: #7 Dick Anderson

The 7th best Miami Dolphins draft pick of all time is...

Dick Anderson, who was a 1968 3rd round pick, 73rd overall.

When I talk to old-time Dolphin fans, Anderson's name gets mentioned a lot as their favorite player from that era. When you look at his accomplishments, it's easy to see why.

Anderson is a three time Pro Bowler and two time first-team All Pro. He was a key member of the '72 undefeated Super Bowl champions. And he followed up that season by being named the 1973 Defensive Player of the Year as the Dolphins went on to win their second consecutive Super Bowl.

For his career, Anderson intercepted 34 career passes - and that doesn't include five post-season interceptions in seven career games. Those 34 interceptions rank Anderson second in franchise history, behind only teammate Jake Scott - who together made up one of the greatest safety tandems in NFL history.
