NFL Week 15 Power Rankings

After a week of no post, the Phinsider's power rankings return. The data for last week was compiled and is represented in the rankings - even though the post didn't actually make it up on the site.

Nothing surprising at the top of the rankings, with Green Bay followed by New Orleans.

Packers

Now that the Pack's dream of an undefeated season is history, they need to get their secondary patched up in time for the playoffs. If they can't do so, Green Bay's Super Bowl dreams will be history, too. (kmb)

2

3

Saints

The Saints are great in domes. Too bad they will have to go to Green Bay if they want to get back to the Super Bowl (Mosul)

3

4

Patriots

4

2

4

3

Despite talk of the Pats being on their last leg earlier in the season by some they are right back at the top of the division and the AFC. (tcp)

4

6

49ers

3

4

3

4

If the Niners can lock up that first round bye, they may have the best chance of all the NFC teams at knocking off GB at Lambeau - thanks to their defense. (Matty)

5

2

Ravens

5

5

5

5

That was a convincing shellacking the Ravens took in San Diego last Sunday, and Joe Flacco appears to be regressing back into "million dollar arm, 50 cent head" form just in time for the playoffs. Ray Rice must be pleased. (kmb)

6

5

Steelers

6

6

7

6

There's no shame in getting destroyed by the 49ers at the ‘Stick, but Ben Roethlisberger will soon have to learn how to throw from a Rascal scooter if the Steelers continue to let opposing pass rushers wear Big Ben like a hat. (kmb)

7

7

Texans

7

9

6

7

T.J. Yates bit the Texans this time - but still a dangerous team despite injuries. (Mosul)

8

10

Lions

8

8

8

8

With Calvin Johnson back in full-on Megatron mode (his 33.4 points willed my fantasy team, Finkle is Einhorn, to the championship game), Detroit is poised to get to the playoffs for the time since 1999. (kmb)

9

8

Falcons

9

7

9

9

Great game this week - Monday Night Footbasll against the Saints in New Orleans to claim a playoff berth. (Mosul)

10

13

Cowboys

11

10

11

10

Romo is back to his usual high level of play in December. If the Boys win out they take the division. (tcp)

11

9

Broncos

10

12

10

12

Tebow's magic was not enough against New England. But Denver still in driver's seat to win division w/ games remaining vs Buffalo and KC. (Matty)

12

15

Bengals

12

11

12

11

The Dalton-to-Green connection is pretty awesome to watch, eh? This duo will be a show for years to come. (kmb)

13

11

Jets

15

14

14

13

Still in line for a playoff spot but have games versus a desperate Giants team and a surging division rival in the Phins. (tcp)

14

12

Giants

13

13

16

16

The Giants like the Cowboys take the division if they win out. Week 17 might be for all the marbles if both win this week. (tcp)

15

17

Chargers

16

16

13

15

Don't look now but suddenly SD is one of the most dangerous teams in the AFC. But can they get the help they need to reach the post-season? (Matty)

16

20

Seahawks

17

17

15

14

Post-season is unlikely for Seattle. But Pete Carroll doing a terrific job w/ this bunch - led by the resurgant Marshawn Lynch. (Matty)

17

21

Eagles

14

15

17

20

Still praying for both the Cowboys and Giants to fall flat on their faces, the Eagles hopes for the post season are all but dead. (tcp)

18

19

Cardinals

18

18

18

17

John Skelton is now 5-1 and has completed over 63% of his passes over the last two weeks, throwing for 595 yards and 4 TDs. So why isn't anyone talking about him like they are Tebow? (Matty)

19

14

Titans

19

20

20

19

Ouch. They got run over by the juggernaut that is the Indianapolis Colts. (Mosul)

20

18

Raiders

21

21

19

18

An epic 4th quarter choke job, the latest of their 3 consecutive losses, has likely dashed Oakland's playoff hopes. (Matty)

21

23

Chiefs

20

19

21

22

Great win by KC on Sunday over the Packers. Perhaps Romeo Crennel can lead KC to a strong finish and make a case for having the "interim" tag dropped from his title. (Matty)

22

16

Bears

22

22

22

21

You know it's bad when anyone expects to get an offensive lift from Josh McCown. (kmb)

23

24

Dolphins

23

25

25

23

Congrats to Todd Bowles on his first NFL win at Head Coach! (tcp)

24

26

Panthers

24

24

24

24

Cam Newton still working on his Rookie of the Year credentials. (Mosul)

25

27

Redskins

25

23

23

25

Having nothing left to play for still playing the spoiler. (tcp)

26

22

Bills

28

26

26

26

Wonder if they are still happy at giving their QB all that money so soon. (tcp)

27

25

Jaguars

26

27

27

27

Going to face an angry Titans team after they lost to the Colts. Could be ugly for the Jaguars. (Mosul)

28

28

Buccaneers

27

28

29

29

2012 can't get here fast enough (Mosul)

29

29

Browns

29

29

28

28

Don't look now, but the Browns could be in the market for a QB in 2012. Then again, Trent Richardson would dominate behind Cleveland's offensive line... (kmb)

30

30

Vikings

30

30

31

30

USC's Matt Kalil just declared, and the Vikings are absolutely bad enough to guarantee they'll be in position to draft him next April. Christian Ponder rejoices, purifies himself in the waters of Lake Minnetonka. (kmb)

31

31

Rams

31

31

30

31

How in the world did this team ever beat the Saints? (Matty)

32

32

Colts

32

32

32

32

And the 2008 Detroit Lions can pop the champagne corks after the Colts finally won a game. (Mosul)
