Miami Dolphins Sign J.P. Losman; Rosenfels to Non-Football Illness List

The Miami Dolphins today placed backup quarterback Sage Rosenfels on the Reserve/Non-football injury list.  In his place, they signed former Buffalo Bills quarterback J.P. Losman to serve as the backup to starting quarterback Matt Moore.

This information comes via James Walker, ESPN's AFC East blogger.

The 22nd pick of the 2004 NFL Draft, Losman spent the first five years of his career in Buffalo, tallying a 10-23 record as a starter, with a 59.3 passer rating.  He threw for 6211 yards, 33 touchdowns and 34 interceptions.

Losman was out of the NFL at the start of the 2009 season, playing with the Las Vegas Locomotives of the UFL.  Losman led the Locomotives to the inaugural UFL championship, before signing with the Oakland Raiders, who were being decimated by injuries.   He appeared in one game, attempting just one pass.

Last season, the Seattle Seahawks signed, then released, then signed Losman, where he appeared in their playoff game against the New Orleans Saints.

No word has been given on Rosenfels' illness.
