NFL Draft 2010: Rounds 6-7 Open Thread

Well there are just two rounds left in this year's NFL Draft and the Dolphins have just two picks left. From here on out, use this thread to discuss it.

I will update this post with the Dolphins' picks instead of creating new posts for each.

Round 7, Pick 212: Chris McCoy, DE/OLB, Middle Tennessee St.
McCoy was the Sun Belt Conference Co-Defensive Player of the Year after tallying 20 tackles for loss and 7 sacks in 2009. He measured in at 6'3, 261 at his Pro Day and ran a 4.70 40 yard dash. Mike Mayock says he has a quick first step and a non-stop motor. He has told the media that the Dolphins informed him he'd come in and compete at weakside outside linebacker. McCoy has a high opinion of himself, too, telling the media he's "an explosive, dominant player. That's what the Dolphins are getting."

Round 7, Pick 252: Austin Spitler, LB, Ohio St.
Spitler measures in at 6'2, 243. Spitler says the Dolphins informed him he'll be a special teamer at first while transitioning to an inside linebacker in Miami's 3-4 defense. He played middle linebacker in OSU's 4-3 in college. He turned in a 4.73 40 at his Pro Day to go with 32 reps on the bench. He reportedly really impressed at his workout, putting him on the radars of several teams who attended the Pro Day at Ohio State. And guess what? That's right - he was a team captain.

[Update: The draft is over. Time to get away from the computer for a while...a long while. Thanks to all who joined us over these last three days to discuss/debate Miami's draft. Also note that I've created an undrafted free agents thread to post any signings the Dolphins complete.]
