Sunday Morning Bloody Mary: Dolphins vs Lions Pre-Game Thread

Good morning, everyone! I hope you all had an excellent Christmas yesterday. Hopefully Santa will bring us one more gift this weekend - a Dolphins win today against the Lions.

This is your pre-game thread. Kickoff is at 1:00 today and our game thread will be up at 12:45. Until then, all relevant pre-game news will be posted here.

Weekly Inactives and Starting Lineup Updates

The major lineup change for the Dolphins is Richie Incognito sliding over to start at center. Pat McQuistan will start at Incognito's left guard spot.

Both young receivers - Roberto Wallace and Marlon Moore - are active and will play.

Karlos Dansby, meanwhile, is inactive. Tim Dobbins will start at Dansby's inside linebacker spot.

Miami's complete list of inactives is as follows: LB Karlos Dansby, DB Nate Ness, OT Matt Kopa, OL Eric Ghiaciuc, TE Dedrick Epps, TE Jeron Mastrud, DE Ryan Baker and DL Chris Baker.

For the Lions, Shaun Hill gets the start at quarterback. Meanwhile safety Louis Delmas is out today as well, forcing C.C. Brown into the starting lineup - which is great news for Chad Henne.

Weather Update

The big story today regarding the weather will be the wind. Sustained winds of around 15 to 20 mph with gusts of 30 mph are possible. Temperatures will be in the mid 60s and it'll be partly cloudy after some possible pre-game showers.

Matty's Player to Watch

Chad Henne. There's no doubt that the Dolphins will bring in some competition at quarterback this offseason. Whether it's a high draft pick, a mid-round pick, or a veteran, Henne will be in a competition for his job. He has an opportunity these final two games to at least get a head start on making his case for the job. Of course, it's important to keep in mind that even two great games to close out the year doesn't mean all that much. After all, the pressure is off with Miami out of playoff contention. Still, seeing how Henne performs now with his job on the line should be interesting.
