Latest on the Jason Taylor front

If you have been around here this week, then you know that we've spent a lot of time discussing the possibility of Jason Taylor coming to the Dolphins.  My previous update on these rumored "contract talks" is right here.

But I have a little new information on the situation, courtesy of my original source.  But before I tell you that, I want to point out that repeated calls and e-mails to Gary Wichard's office (Taylor's agent) have gone without a response.  So thanks for that.

The latest, as I am told, is that Taylor's agent and the Dolphins spoke and did discuss some parameters of a 2 year contract.  There seems to be mutual interest - but both parties agreed to take a "wait and see" approach for right now.  I would imagine that is so Taylor can gauge interest from other teams while the Dolphins continue to focus on the NFL Draft that is fast approaching.

So as it seems now, nothing is imminent - but there is mutual interest and at least both sides know what the other is looking for in terms of a contract.  If I hear anything more, I'll be sure to let you all know.
