With the Dolphins' decision not to draft any pass-rushing outside linebackers this past weekend, it was widely expected that they would seriously consider bringing back Dolphin legend Jason Taylor. Well, not surprisingly, there is a report that claims the Dolphins are indeed talking with him about a possible return to Miami:
The Dolphins signed Cameron Wake this offseason and are currently negotiating with Jason Taylor, as are at least two other teams. (Yes, that is breaking news but we kind of assumed that would be the case anyway).
While we don't know who the "two other teams" are, I think we could all safely assume that the Patriots are probably one of the teams. If I had to guess, I'd say that Tampa Bay is the other team - as there were reports the past few days that indicated Tampa could become interested in adding Taylor.
It'll be interesting to see exactly how much the Dolphins would be willing to pay Taylor - or rather, how much of a discount Taylor would be willing to come back to Miami for. It's been widely written and said that Taylor wants to come back to Miami. If that is indeed the case, then there really shouldn't be any reason as to why he isn't a Dolphin in 2009.
