Dolphins vs Bucs: Prediction Time

As much as we all disagreed with none of the "experts" from my random sampling of "expert picks" taking the Dolphins last week, they were all indeed correct. So let's see who they are taking this week:

Chris Mortensen - Mia Adam Schefter - Mia Tom Jackson - Mia
Mike Ditka - Mia Cris Carter - Mia Peter King - Mia
PFT - Mia Jason Cole - Mia Michael Silver - Mia
Pete Prisco - Mia Harmon Forecast - Mia Clark Judge - Mia

Well it's a clean sweep for the Dolphins this week - the exact opposite of last week. But I always feel a little uneasy when the Dolphins are expected to win a game easily. With that said, Tony Sparano is the guy who must prevent the dreaded "let-down" take place following a string of many emotionally charged games against good teams. If this team comes out flat on Sunday, that's on the head coach. I'll admit, however, that I'm confident Sparano will have this team ready to go.

Random fact: despite an 11-5 record last season, this is the first game in 2009 that the Dolphins are actually favored to win. It took 10 weeks for the defending AFC East champions to not be an underdog. Wow. Now that is a tough schedule.

As for the game this week, I'm quietly confident that the Dolphins will win. I think that they will get back to the basics and pound the football right into the teeth of the 30th ranked rush defense. Tampa's corners are good, too, so let's not ask Chad Henne to win the game with his arm. This is a classic "pound the rock" kind of game.

I think the Dolphins will win, somewhere in the neighborhood of 24-10.

My Week 10 Locks
Broncos -3.5 over Redskins
- I've long been a believer that the Broncos really aren't that good. But the Redskins stink and without Clinton Portis, I don't see how they move the ball at all on Denver.
Titans -6.5 over Bills - The Titans have begun righting the ship and I expect Tennessee to run wild against Buffalo's rush defense.
Colts - 2.5 over Patriots - In the game of the week, I expect Peyton Manning to have a big day through the air against New England's average (at best) corners.

Last Week: 1-3
Season: 14-14
