ProFootballTalk is reporting that the Dolphins have come to terms with Yeremiah Bell on a 1 year, $1.4 million deal. The site cites Adam Schefter as one of the sources reporting this.
This is a great move by the Dolphins. It's a low-risk, high-reward move. Bell was on the verge of breaking out after a very strong training camp in 2007 but then suffered a torn Achilles' tendon in week 1 against the Redskins.
It's believed Bell will be ready to go once training camp rolls around, where it's likely that both safety spots will be open competitions.
Hit tip to "jwillis9" and "finguy23" for bringing this to our attention.
Also, one other note. The Dolphins have tendered Greg Camarillo at $445,000, according to his agent. Unless the tender is withdrawn, no other team can offer Camarillo anything, as he is an exclusive rights free agent. So he'll likely at least be in camp, but he'll have to battle for a roster spot. He's shown flashes of reliable hands and good route running, so he'll be interesting to watch once camp does roll around.
