Dolphins sign kicker Rayner

Per the Sun-Sentinel:

The Dolphins continue their work to improve the special teams, signing kicker Dave Rayner to a one-year contract on Tuesday according to his agent.

Rayner, a former Michigan State standout who was selected by the Colts in the sixth-round of the 2005 draft, spent a portion of last season with the San Diego Chargers.

Rayner's strength is kickoffs, which also happens to be Jay Feely's weakness.  However, when all is said and done, I'd be shocked if Feely wasn't our kicker.  He's just too reliable on field goals to let go, hitting on 21 of 23 last year.

If nothing else, though, this puts every Dolphins player on notice.  Nobody's job can be considered safe.
