Dolphins offer Carmichael OC job

The Sun-Sentinel reports that the Dolphins have offered Saints' QB coach Pete Carmichael Jr. the offensive coordinator job.  Carmichael has spent the last 2 seasons in New Orleans working with Drew Brees.

This is quite a surprise considering we never even heard his name mentioned before.  We did know the Dolphins had interest in Dan Henning and, reportedly, Chris Palmer.  But it seems Carmichael, who would need to be allowed to make the move by the Saints, is now the front runner for the OC job.  And in case you are wondering, Carmichael has 2 years of experience working with Tony Sparano.  The ball now is in New Orleans' court.  Will they allow Carmichael to make the jump?

Also, the Dolphins have hired their special teams coach.  And the lucky new coach is John Bonamego, who had the same job in New Orleans last year.
