The Sun-Sentinel is reporting that cornerback Andre Goodman, who had been nursing his surgically repaired shoulder, has been cleared for contact drills. Today he worked as the team's nickelback. Goodman seems confident that he'll play on Sunday.
Meanwhile, the Miami Herald is reporting that the Dolphins may be making a change in the secondary. Apparently, Travis Daniels has been getting some work in asa safety. Because of that, cornerback Michael Lehan has been seeing extended work as a starter. It's likely that once Andre Goodman is fully ready to start at corner that Daniels will permanently be moved to safety and be the team's starter, replacing the injured Yeremiah Bell who is out for the season.
It'll be interesting to see what the Dolphins do on Sunday. I'd be surprised if Daniels was already moved to safety considering Goodman is likely to be rusty. However, I do like the idea of moving Daniels permanently to the safety spot. I talked about this idea originally when Bell went down for the year. Daniels' skill set makes him a much better fit as a safety in this league. He's got good ball skills and seems to have good instincts. He's also a very sure tackler. What he lacks is ideal speed for a corner. However, as a safety, he has more than adaquate speed. This is certainly something to keep an eye on.
