The Miami Herald's Jeff Darlington is reporting that Ted Ginn is expected to be signed and in camp by noon today. Here's the quote from his report:
Both sides were working feverishly late Thursday evening toward putting the finishing touches on a deal. For several hours, Dolphins executives were even optimistic they would have their first-round draft pick signed by the end of the night Thursday.
The principal terms of Ginn's contract have been in place since Monday, but both sides still needed several days to iron out backside incentives and extras. The process, however, was stalled for several reasons, including a lack of signings by first-round players.
More news on Ginn as I hear it....
**UPDATE**: Well noon has come and gone and still no word on a deal. I guess we'll have to wait and see if he's at the meeting at 1pm. Until then, we all continue to wait...
**UPDATE**: Still nothing new on the Ted Ginn front. But I did want to point out that the we have taken the 2 polls that use PollDaddy (all0time fave Dolphin and Cam's approval rating) down for the time being because PollDaddy is having a technical issue. As soon as they get it taken care of, both polls will return. And if I hear anything on Ginn, I'll pass it along to you all.
**UPDATE**: Edgar Thompson still hasn't heard anything yet either. He writes:
If Ginn has, we should all know soon. If not, it will be interesting to see how Wayne Huizenga reacts if Ginn has missed the owner’s noon deadline.
Huizenga put Dolphins rookies on notice when he said he would no longer tolerate holdouts. But I doubt that will be an issue if Ginn is practicing on Saturday morning.
Cam Cameron said camp officially opens at 1 p.m. with a team meeting. Ginn may be there.
**UPDATE**:: 1:20 and still no word on anything. I'm heading to lunch now. If he isn't signed by the time I get back, I'm going to be angry.
