RUNNING BACK SITUATION
With the injury to Ricky Williamd ending his season, the Dolphins re-signed Samkon Gado. And here's the kicker: If Jesse Chatman can't go, the Miami Herald is reporting that it would likely be Gado getting the start over Patrick Cobbs. The Herald believes that Gado was originally cut instead of Cobbs because Cobbs is the better special teams player. However, the coaching staff seems to be much more comfortable with the idea of Gado starting a RB rather than Cobbs. But again, this is all contingent on the health of Jesse Chatman. And the Palm Bech Post is reporting that Chatman practiced in full pads today but did have both of his ankles heavily taped. The report also says Chatman ran "gingerly." Gado and Chatman reportedly split practice reps with the first team. Considering that Jesse has also been dealing with a neck injury, it wasn't expected that he would have practiced at all today. Condering he did, that's a good sign for Sunday.
OTHER INJURY NOTES
The Dolphins officially placed Ricky Williams on Injured Reserve today, ending his season just 6 carries into it. They also did not activate Joe Toledo off of the Physically Unable to Perform list. That means that Joe's season is officially over...without it ever beginning. At this point, one has to wonder if Toledo will ever be able to play in this league. Personally, I've had enough with him and I think it's time the Dolphins move on. Unless he's healthy and ready to go at 100% next spring and summer, I think his Dolphins career will likely be over.
Also, Vonnie Holliday missed practice today for an undisclosed reason. He wasn't listed at all on the injury report following Monday night's loss, so this shouldn't be anything to worry about.
