Could Brady have...

Could Tom Brady really have a torn ACL?

http://blogs.nbcsports.com/home/archives/2008/09/jets-assuming-torn-acl.html

There is no official word but it is interesting to see that word is spreading around the NFL that his injury is that severe. It did look pretty bad but im really not sure that he completely tore is ACL. Either way it looks like Brady could miss significant time this season. I am not happy that Brady is hurt but it doesnt upset me either. I also would like to accept responsibility for his injury. You see every year my 1st round pick in fantasy football is a bust. Whether it come down to injury or just not performing well. At the end of last football season i vowed to choose Brady in my fantasy draft this year. So with the 4th pick in my fantasy league I chose him. Therefore I layed down the curse that I possess, punishing yet another victim for the 4th consecutive year.

Ronnie to sit on Saturday

http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2008/football/nfl/specials/preview/2008/08/21/brown.ap/index.html?eref=si_nfl

I figured he wouldt play this week. I am really nervous about our RB situation this year. I am not one to believe that Ronnie is injury prone but we need to get him healthy. I would rather us lighten his load early in the season and slowly increase throughout the year. Im sorry but I still do not trust Ricky. Yeah I will admit that I have seen some good things in camp and in preseason from him but he hasnt played a full game since 2005. That is a long time without playing professional football. He needs to stay healthy and off the bong and i just dont know if he will be able to do both. I do like what I have seen from Parmale but he is no Ronnie Brown. I suppose we will see how good Ricky can be this weekend with Brown out because usually week 3 of the preseason is when the starters get the most playing time.

Ted Ginn emerging as true #1 WR

http://www.nfl.com/news/story?id=09000d5d80a2507c&template=with-video&confirm=true

Just found this nice little article about Ted Ginn and thought some of you may enjoy the read. Nothing long but it certaintly is nice to see our Dolphins and especially Ginn (who some were already calling a bust) get some recognition.

Personally I think that Ginn will be a true #1 WR for us. The most important part of him becoming a great reciever will be consistency at QB. I always defended Chris Chambers when people were bashing him and i believe that our poor QB play is what held him back from becoming elite. Now that he has had time to work with a good QB (Rivers) he will show everyone that he is a pro bowl caliber WR and a true #1.  I just hope that we can give Teddy the best opportunity to succeed.

Fins battles entering camp

http://www.miamiherald.com/616/story/610812.html

This article really gets me excited!

Summary:

QB battle is between McCown and Beck. Henne has a slim to none chance to begin the season as a starter but could start at some point.

Guard battle opposite of Smiley is between Trey Darilek and Steve Mckinney. Both rookies Shawn Murphy and Donald Thomas are longshots but are liked by the coaches.

Defensive End opposite Vonnie Holliday is between Roth and Starks. Roth has gained enough weight to play DE but Starks is earning $21 million over 5 years and $7 million guarenteed.

Tight End battle is between Fasano and Martin but it seems that Fasano will have no problem beating out Martin.

Cornerback spot opposite of Will Allen is between Michael Lehan and Andre Goodman. Goodman supposedly looks good and should be fully recovered from injuries.

Saftey opposite Yeremiah Bell is between Jason Allen, Renaldo Hill, and Chris Crocker. Jason Allen seems to be the favorite and has been praised by Paul Pasqualoni. Hill is coming off an ACL injury but should be 100% by camp.

Thats pretty much sums it up but I would recomend reading the article for yourself. Its not long and goes into more detail than I just did.

NFL season simulation

Off season is kind of slow so forgive me...

The people from IGN, who are lucky enough to already be playing madden 09, simulated the 2008 season with the most up to date rosters to see what the outcomes would be. In the AFC east the Patriots once again won the division with an AFC best 13-3 record. In 2nd place the Jets finished with a 10-6 record. Then come our Dolphins who finish the season 8-8! Finally the Bills finish last in the AFC east with a 6-10 record. I guess EA sports didnt know that Donte Whitner already guarenteed playoffs...

The simulation put the Patriots and Cowboys in the superbowl. Im not sure but I would think that these two teams are probably the favorites to make it to the superbowl. I know what your thinking... who won? The Cowboys won! And guess who was MVP? Not TO... Not Romo... Not Barber... Not D. Ware.... but our very own legendary dolphin Zach Thomas.
