Mauia arrested; Grigsby celebrates

As JMFlyer1454 points out in this diary, Dolphins FB Reagan Mauia has been arrested on charges of "simple battery," which is a misdemeanor that carries the potential for up to a year in jail and up to a $1,000 fine.

And "simple" is exactly what it was. According to the report, Mauia was leaving a restaurant and went up to a man and his girlfriend in the parking lot. He reportedly asked the man "what the [beep] he was looking at." The victim said he wasn't looking at anyone. Mauia supposedly responded by saying "you should know" and then punched the man in the face with a closed fist. The man fell to the ground unconscious and with a bleeding mouth. Mauia fled the scene but was found and positively identified.

So the question is, what should the victim have known? Maybe Mauia was referring to the fact that the man should know that Reagan is "the juggernaut."

Either way, this isn't a good thing for Mauia, especially since he is denying it. Meanwhile, recently signed Boomer Grigsby is probably celebrating, as he moves that much closer to being the Fins starting fullback.

In a statement released by the team, Tony Sparano says:

"We are aware of the situation regarding Reagan earlier today. We will withhold any further comment because we are in the process of gathering more information."

We'll see what happens. But to see Mauia's impressive "run through wall" video, you'll have to click the "Read More" link.

Crazy
That was sick, even though it was probably just dry wall.

I WAS dry wall and pretty wimpy if you asked me
Ohhhhh... Juggernaut....

I could run through dry wall.  Big deal.

He's an idiot.  Get rid of him.

It's not the dry wall...
...but rather the insulation. That stuff is itchy!

Kidding aside, I actually like the guy as a blocker. He's better than Grigsby at isolation blocking and lead blocking in general.

Ask Channing Crowder, who mowed down Grigsby on his way to Larry Johnson. That was an awesome play. Actually, Crowder had two great plays that game (2006). What happened to him in 2007?

The thing with Mauia is that he just can't seem to catch the ball, and I thought he would have done better in the running game. He ran a high 4.6 and weighs over 270lbs. That should translate into more than 5 yards.

exactly
did you see they even drilled/cut holes in the darn thing for him.... i'm sure skidding on the floor did more damage to him.

plus the guy is a full back, and not to frown on the great ones of the past, but FB is pretty much an unneed position these days.

cut the door knocker and move on.

Wow
I really hope when he did it he said "Pimp slap yo ass bitch!" just like the Juggernaut bitch video.

Unfortunately....
the type of "intellect" a guy probably posesses to pull a stunt like running through a wall is rather similar to the kind required to punch someone out at a parking lot for no good reason.

He's not a star or an important player by any stretch. If he were then he'd get a slap on the wrist. As is, I won't be surprised if he gets cut/fined, etc.

perfectly said nat
it's not like he impressed on the field last year. nice knowin' ya juggernaut.

First of all...
There are already holes in the drywall, you can see that is was put up over a doorway and on the inside of the wall you can see that the sheetrock is pieced together...look for the seam in the middle. FAIL

Oh yeah...
and it's only one sheet...you can see from the demo on the inside that the interior wall has already been torn down.  Hmmm...didn't some other idiot get released from his team recently for punching some Joe Blow in the face.  When are we gonna stop letting guys get away this sophomoric behavior?  I would hate see what we would do next season without his career 5 rushing yards. Jug? or Not!

No doubt.
I have beat up many a sheet of dry wall, WITHOUT holes already in it.

unfortunately, I also had to repair the drywall afterward.

:)

Grigsby was drafted by the Chiefs
after displaying 4.5 speed in the 40 yard dash during the NFL Combine

That ain't shit.....
When I was 15 (and a whole 98 pounds of sticks & stones), I punched a buddy & knocked him through a dry wall bedroom wall.

"Wooooooo, I must be a bad ass."

Yeah, that stunt was kind of a joke. Run through a brick wall..... "Impress me!"

Anyhoo........... sorry to see it, but just another brain dead NFL (not for long) guy, who can join the rest of the morons who litter the headlines with wife beating, stripper punching, dog fighting, bitch stabbing NFL Elites.

"Adios, Amigos........or should we say Aloha"

How does the NFL get away with this???
Seriously?? Has anyone ever followed Profootballtalk.com? The NFL has someone arrested every week. At what point is it enough. It has literally become a joke. Everyone gets on the MLB guys for steroids/HGH when you know more of it goes on in the NFL...and they're setting arrest records left and right. I wish people would stop giving the NFL a free pass when it comes to the integrity of their league and tell these guys to stop being jackasses.

I Wonder
Why people find it strange that someone who makes a living committing violent acts sometimes maintain it as a hobby too.

It doesn't excuse anything, but it is hardly shocking or new that football players have reputations for trouble off the field.

As to the MLB, go to www.badjocks.com and read up on who is doing what. It's a funny site, and trust me. The NBA, NHL and MLB have their share of idiots too.

Plus Mauia is a fullback. You have to be nuts to play that position.

Bad!!
I am so proud of Reagan before. But now? I can not believe that he did such a stupid thing! I think he is short of the makings of a good player. If Reagan wanted, I think this book will tell him what to do:

i'll bet you (just guessing here)...
that the guy was checking out his girlfriend.  Nothing gets the ol' testosterone flowing like showing off for a woman.

;)

he's still a knuckledragger with the common sense of a dust mite.
