Dolphins re-sign Yeremiah Bell; tender Greg Camarillo

ProFootballTalk is reporting that the Dolphins have come to terms with Yeremiah Bell on a 1 year, $1.4 million deal.  The site cites Adam Schefter as one of the sources reporting this.

This is a great move by the Dolphins.  It's a low-risk, high-reward move.  Bell was on the verge of breaking out after a very strong training camp in 2007 but then suffered a torn Achilles' tendon in week 1 against the Redskins.

It's believed Bell will be ready to go once training camp rolls around, where it's likely that both safety spots will be open competitions.

Hit tip to "jwillis9" and "finguy23" for bringing this to our attention.

Also, one other note. The Dolphins have tendered Greg Camarillo at $445,000, according to his agent. Unless the tender is withdrawn, no other team can offer Camarillo anything, as he is an exclusive rights free agent. So he'll likely at least be in camp, but he'll have to battle for a roster spot. He's shown flashes of reliable hands and good route running, so he'll be interesting to watch once camp does roll around.

Bell should
easily win the SS job if he is healthy.  This provides us the opportunity to pick his heir apparent in the draft.  If Bell has a strong 2008 season he is most likely gone in 2009.  Now is the time to find his replacement, not next year.

Yea!!! I agree! Great move!
If he can beat the injury bug for a season, I think he has the potential to be pro bowl caliber!

Receviers
Well i like the recevier stand point now.We get 1 more recevier in the draft in then we also eatha get bryant johnson,or if we cant get him through the free agency than we go afta keyswan i believe we have to get lucky with eatha 1 of the 2.I like the idea with resigning bell for cheap and only for 1 year.So now that means we have a safty to start next year and if he has a good year we can sign him on a big contract......................
