Dolphins sign Charlie Anderson; plus a little info on Reggie Torbor

PrintFirst off, the Miami Herald is reporting that the Dolphins have signed Texans' linebacker Charlie Anderson. All I really know about Anderson is that he can play special teams and that he might be versatile enough to play inside or outside linebacker.

Moving on, I got in touch with Ed Valentine of Big Blue View to get some thoughts on Reggie Torbor. Here's what he told me:
Torbor has good athletic ability for an outside linebacker, but prior to this season his primary impact with the Giants had always been on special teams -- where he excels.
Torbor took over at outside linebacker this season when Mathiam Kiwanuka got hurt, and did a good job. In previous opportunities at linebacker, Torbor had been found wanting. This time he played well. The Giants, though, view him as a career backup.
He might surprise and play well with a full-time opportunity. Don't expect him to a guy who can replace Zach Thomas, though.
At least, at the very least, he'll provide depth while being a solid contributor on special teams.
