Cowboys land LB Thomas with one-year deal

Cowboys agreed with LB Zach Thomas on a one-year, $3 million contract. Profootballtalk.com reports he'll earn a $1 million signing bonus with a $1 million base salary. Another $1 million is available in incentives.

It's technically a multi-year deal, the structure essentially makes it a one-year committment. Thomas is not guaranteed to start in front of Bradie James or Akin Ayodele, but he'll be part of a solid interior rotation for the Cowboys deep linebacker group. Expect his tackle numbers to go down, but Dallas probably offered him the best combination of money and possible wins.

nice signing for us

Cowboys are loaded at LB which means someone like carpenter going to be let go or traded we need LB and our coaching staff knows the personel well. Great for zac gets to play for a contender we can root for and we don't have to see him in a Pats uniform.

Dolphins vs. Cowboys....

...in Super Bowl 44 or 45? Aren't one of those being played in Miami? That would be something.

He gets to go back home. Play for a winner. Hear the hometown folks cheer. For the first (and last) time in my life, I hope the Cowboys win the Super Bowl next year.
