Zach Thomas update: Pats offer contract
Well, one of our fears may come to fruition as Dolphin fans. Adam Schefter is reporting that the Patriots have offered Zach Thomas a contract. Negotiations between his agent, Drew Rosenhaus, and the Pats will continue.
Thomas visited with New England today and is still scheduled to meet with the Saints tomorrow. Schefter does point out that the Jets, Bills, Broncos, Texans, and Cowboys all are interested in bringing Thomas in for a visit.
What does this mean to the Dolphins? Nothing, except that cutting Zach might prove to come back and bite the Dolphins in the ass. You have to wonder if Thomas still might have more left in his tank than we all thought. After all, there's as many as 7 or 8 teams rumored to be interested in him. That does say something.
But, again, the Dolphins deciding to cut Thomas is probably the best thing for this franchise at this point in time. But it's going to be painful to watch Thomas play in another uniform, especially if he's still as productive as he has been in Miami.

The only good thing...
I, for one, am not one bit surprised NE tendered an offer, but am completely disgusted by the possibility.
Bring me the bucket.

Really hoping the saints
adding another mid-30's LB doesn't really amke sense for NE, so this news surprises me a bit.
i truly hope it does not happen.

Chance at a ring
I still stand by the move, because if he has one big hit, he won't play next year. Had he stayed with the fish with our luck, something like that would have happened.

I'm with Jayfiss on this one...
And if we are smart here, plus we get the right personnel, then the dolphins too can take advantage of NE's dinosaur-like LB group in the passing game.
I'm not getting into the ZT is a traitor or whatever, discussion. The dolphins cut him, that was the fins choice. Don't tell a guy who is unemployed, what jobs he can and can't take - especially when he gave this franchise his all for 10+ years on many, many losing teams.
