Even more on Chad Johnson wanting out of Cincy

"Ocho Cinco" watch 2008 has begun.  Today, Chad Johnson, endorsing his charity work with Degree, has made the rounds down in Arizona, going on various radio and TV shows.  And in many of those interviews, Johnson has seemed frustrated and clearly is positioning himself to get out of Cincinnati.  Will it work?  That's anyone's guess.

Now, Larry McAlister, a Cincinnato radio host, has made an entry on his blog about how today could be the beginning of the end of Chad's era in Cincinnati.  Here's some of what he wrote:

Mark the day and time.....Jan. 30, 2008 on the Jim Rome show. I think Bengal fans will look back and remember this day for years to come.

If it wasn't obvious before, it is now......Chad Johnson has turned the page and his back on his Bengals career. This isn't cute....it isn't fun...and it's not an act. This is calculated and orchestrated. He and agent Drew Rosenhaus have put the wheels in motion to get out of town. They believe he's best served leaving Cincinnati. They view the field turf as greener any place else.

This is about money, losing, marketing and trust. Chad continues to believe he is being sabotaged by, not the fans or media...but the organization. This might be fixable if it was the media and fans. Anyone think this organization is good at making guys feel loved?

Come to Miami!!  We'll make you feel loved!!  I promise!!

Anyway, for the perspective of Bengals fans, head on over to Cincy Jungle, SBN's Bengals blog.  In particular, check out Josh's latest article by clicking here.

And now I'll ask you all.  Will Johnson be a Bengal in 2008 if you had to guess?  And if no, do you realistically think he can end up in Miami?

here's what I want to know....
CJ hasn't had less than, get this, 87 catches and 1275 yards since....2002.

All this with Carson Palmer as his QB (and Kitna for his first 2 seasons).

If you watched the bengals last year, you know that CJ did lots and lots of complaining.

So for arguments sake, what would you expect him to be like when he's catching passes from....John Beck, who doesn't even have 70 completions in his entire career? what happens when every team double and triple covers CJ and he's on pace for a 60 catch, 900 yard season?

Chad
Will not mesh well with this team in a "rebuilding" process.

The other thing is, he's already said he wants to play for a contender. As much as I hope we can get there sooner than later, I'm not sure it will fit Chad's timeline.

Joking or not
He knows the position Miami is in. But he also knows Parcells reputation for rebuilding, and rebuilding fast. He wouldn't had made the Miami comment if he did not know this. Yea he said he wants to be on a contender, but he also said he wants to come to Miami. 1 + 1 = He knows Parcells can have us in the playoffs in 2 years, he has done it with every other team he has went to.

Lets do some Math

Parcells + Ocho + way under salary cap + draft picks - Cam Cameron - Randy Mueller = Playoffs in 2-3 years.

I see a outside shot. Chad wants to come home, and he knows Parcells can turn us around quick and he can help.

Chad
I also read today he wants to play for - Seahawks, Panthers, and Bears. It's my opinion he's just going around saying he wants to be on anybody's team except the Bengals.

yea.....
now he's acting like a hoar.
I also read that he told a Boston globe reporter "I'm ganna play for you guys next year"

If he goes to the Patriots I'm boycotting the NFL

just saw...
on PFT that CJ did a segment on NFL live saying that he wants to "play for a contender" and when pressed about whether Cincy falls into that category he said next question. That doesnt really signal him wanting to come to Miami, cuz we sure as hell arent contending for anything in the near future! Maybe in 2 years at the earliest!

What an idiot
I love how the blogger for the Bengals referred to Beck as "Josh Beck". He's going to regret that someday.

Id be like if someone called Marino "Dave" when he was young.

For it
Chad, Ted, and Lorenzo in the slot.  That's a lot of speed.  Now we just need a good TE and a few offensive linemen to protect the Beckster.  Trade the 1st pick, get as many picks as possible AND save cap space. In free agency, sign the best LT, DT, and CB available.  Sign a bunch of FA Cowboys. Draft the best men possible.  Trade or cut Thomas.  I love him but he's another hit away from "scrambled eggs".

yawn
I'm so tired of over rated WR yapping their self promoting gums.

give me a Harrison, holt, or welker (wait didn't he play for the fins once?) any time, the rest of you can have your yappers.

Yup
One of the reasons the WR on my wishlist this off-season is Bernard Berrian.
