Around SBN: Steve McNair Found Shot to Death

More info on Chad Johnson asking to be dealt?

I found this to be quite interesting.  A writer for the Cincinnsti Frontier, Mark Curnutte, wrote the following in a very brief blog post:

Chad Johnson is at it again. The wide receiver is now lobbying for a trade to his hometown Miami Dolphins.

That's it.  That's all Mark tells us.  And the only link that is included is a link to the YouTube video from the NFL Network that we've posted here on this site (scroll down a story or two).

So what I'm not wondering is if Curnutte has some other information or if he's just a few days late in reporting the original story that broke when Chad asked Bill Parcells to call him.  Could it be that Chad has actually formally spoken with the "powers that be" in Cincinnati and made a formal trade request?  Probably not, considering how vague Curnutte's blog post is.

But, hey, one can wish.  Because I'll be honest: the more I think about "Ocho Cinco" in Miami, the more I seem to like it.

**UPDATE**: Just to quickly update this, it seems now that John Clayton is also reporting that Chad Johnson wants a trade to Miami:

Johnson to the Dolphins? Bengals wide receiver Chad Johnson continues to push for a trade, possibly to the Miami Dolphins. He is trying to angle for a new contract but even that appears to be unlikely at the moment.

How bout this
Ginn on 1 side, Cinco on the other. That might stretch the field a bit huh? I don't approve of Barber in the trade I think we could use another player at a different position (but have I said I do like him), If that trade happens, Cinco, Ginn on the out, put L. Booker in the slot, and split back Brown and Barber in our backfield. What defense wants to cover to that? If Brown and or Barber gets tired we could just slip the former NFL rushing leader Williams in there to sub.  Get Asante Samuel in FA and with our 3 #1s (with our 1st pick in the 2nd rd being the 3rd) do some work with the OL and DL, address other needs with our 3rd/4th rd picks. Suddenly we aren't the @ss of everybody's joke anymore.

nice set of WRs
Chad is a WR that we have been longing for.  It has been a long time since we had a dynamic WR on our team as well as a flamboyant player.  (Bryan Cox)

No Thanks, I Think
Johnson is a talented receiver, clearly.  But he's also an @sshole, and a problem on the sidelines.  He's not the kind of receiver I'd be looking to bring in to play with an inexperienced QB like Beck.  I just don't see how Beck's development would be promoted by having a self-absorbed WR chewing his ear on the sidelines after every other possession.

Frankly, I'm also a little worried that in Miami (the city, that is), there would be too many distractions, too many ways to get into trouble.

chad a phin
He might carry antics on the field and be outspoken but the guy loves the game and gives you his all on the field and does not hold back.  The man sleeps in the locker room the night before a game.  I do not think he is that much of a distraction.  Look at all of the trouble cincinnati had in their city with players with the law and he was not one of them.

Totally agree...
He has really never been a problem, but with distraction in the media.  Until this year, he has pretty much been a team player.  Can you really blame him though?  Cincy's coaching staff and front office is a mess...

I'm sorry
~Cincy's coaching staff and front office is a mess...~

I laughed at the irony of how Miami's front office and coaching staff has been over the years. But it looks like things are looking up now, so I know what ya mean.

Still laughed though.

Yeah
I guess I should have went into more detail.  Our front O and coaches haven't had public bouts like Cincy's is going through... that is what I meant! :)  haha

i want chad
We need a player like him on our team; he would be a great motivator and leader for our team in terms of work ethic.  The man works hard.
