The Tuna Effect

**UPDATE**: Just to close the book on any doubt that this deal will get done, ESPN is reporting that the deal is official:

Bill Parcells signed a four-year contract with the Miami Dolphins to become the team's executive vice president of football operations, according to a Dolphins source.

Parcells faxed the contract to the team. The Dolphins are expected to make a formal announcement Thursday afternoon.

And here's the link to the official article on the team's website.

Now back to our regularly scheduled post. [end update]

First of all, let me say that the title of this post will be the very last time I ever refer to Bill Parcells as the "Big Tuna."  It's a weird, creepy nickname and I will not recognize it beyond this very post.

So barring an unexpected setback, Bill Parcells is set to become the VP of Football Operations for the Miami Dolphins.  In a nutshell, this basically means that Parcells will have the final say over every football decision this organization makes.  From the GM to the coaches to the players, the buck stops with Parcells.

You will remember that I was anti-Parcells, calling him overrated.  But that was as a head coach.  And I still feel that way.  Just look at how well the Cowboys have played without Parcells.  Is Wade Phillips that great of a coach?  No.  Parcells just didn't "get" today's athlete.  But the man knows talent and how to build a winning team.  So as a front office guy who will run the team, I'll 100% in favor of this move.

So how will this affect the franchise?  Well, for starters, just having his name gives the Dolphins instant credibility.  Like somebody here already pointed out in the comments section, free agents will now be less likely to shy away from coming to Miami because of their poor performance this season.  That in itself is a great impact Parcells will have.  But there's more.  You have to think about the impact he'll have in being able to turn this franchise around.  You have to consider the impact he'll have on Miami's drafting.  And you have to think about the impact he'll have on the coaching staff (and GM, for that matter).  So let's break it down a little bit.

TURNING THE SHIP AROUND

That's the one thing Bill Parcells is known for.  Sure, he's only won 2 Super Bowls.  And in the grand scheme of things, that is very many compared to other legends.  But he's had a knack for improving whatever franchise he's ever been involed with.  Let's consider his 4 stops:

New York Giants

Parcells took over in 1983 in New York.  In the Giants' previous 5 seasons, the team had a record of 29-44.  In the next 8 seasons ('83-'90), the Giants went 77-49-1.  They made the playoffs 5 times and won two Super Bowls.  That's certainly an impressive turnaround.

New England Patriots

Parcells headed to Foxboro in 1993.  In their previous 5 seasons, the Pats were a laughing stock, with a record of 23-57.  In the 4 seasons Bill spent in New England ('93-'96), the Pats went 32-32.  Sure, that's not great.  But he did make the playoffs 2 times and even appeared in a Super Bowl.

New York Jets

His next stop was back in East Rutherford, this time with the Jets.  He got there in 1997.  In the Jets' previous 5 seasons, they compiled a record of 22-58, another clear joke of a franchise.  In the next 3 seasons ('97-'99), the Parcells-led Jets went 29-19 with one playoff appearance.  Not as great as some make it out to be, but a definite improvement.

Dallas Cowboys

His final stop before the Dolphins was Dallas, joining the Cowboys in 2003.  The previous 5 seasons saw this proud franchise go 33-47.  In the next 4 seasons ('03-'06), they would go 34-30 under Parcells, reaching the playoffs twice.

So what you see here isn't too flashy.  But the Dolphins don't need to win a Super Bowl...yet.  They first must get back to being a respectable NFL franchise, and Bill Parcells is the guy to orchestrate it.

PARCELLS, THE TALENT EVALUATOR

The best asset Bill brings to Miami is, undoubtedly, his ability to evaluate talent.  That's exactly what this franchise needs.  They need to recover from years of mismanagement and poor talent evaluating, which resulted in some truely pitiful drafts.  So let's look at some of the work Parcells has done in the draft.  And note, I'm not going to bring up his days with the NY Giants because the scouting process was quite different those days.  So I won't be bringing up guys like Carl Banks, Mark Bavaro, or Pepper Johnson.

Here's a look at some of the guys he drafted in his 3 other stops in the NFL:

1st round - Drew Bledsoe ('93), Willie McGinist ('94), Ty Law ('95), James Farrior ('97), Terence Newman ('03), DeMarcus Ware ('05)

Other rounds - Troy Brown (8th, '93), Ted Johnson (2nd, '95), Curtis Martin (3rd, '95), Jason Ferguson (7th, '97), Jason Fabini (4th, '98), Jason Witten (3rd, '03), Bradie James (4th, '03), Julius Jones (2nd, '04), Patrick Crayton (7th, '04), and Marion Barber (4th, '05)

Not a bad list, eh?  And let's not forget the fact that he brought in undrafted free agent Tony Romo for a workout.  And we can all see how that move has worked out for Dallas.  So, clearly, the man knows his stuff.

What could this mean for April's draft?  Well, one thing you will see is Bill's penchant for drafting defense in round 1.  In fact, this is part of the reason why Bill left New England.  He wanted to take a defensive player in round 1 of the 1997 draft while owner Bob Kraft wanted Terry Glenn.  The owner, as always, won that argument and off Bill went to New York.  Of course, the one time he had a #1 overall pick, Parcells went QB and took Bledsoe.  One thing to note, though, is that Bill is unlikely to take a running back in the first round, especially considering the success he's had at finding good later round backs.  Julius Jones and Marion Barber are perfect examples.  And I do believe I recall Parcells saying on ESPN that he is against draft a running back in the first round.  Of course, the chance that Miami takes a QB with the #1 overall pick might have gone up if Parcells isn't a big fan of John Beck.  We'll have to wait and see on that one.

THE IMPACT ON COACHING

This seems to be the big question.  What is going to happen to the current coaching staff?  And for that matter, the general manager as well.  I don't think anyone knows, and anyone who claims to know is probably wrong.  But here's some of what I do know about the big 3 (Cam, Randy, Dom) in relation to Bill Parcells.  Randy Mueller has no connection to Bill in any way (that I can tell).  So I'd bet that Randy would have to really impress Bill to stick around.  And if Randy is cut loose, I have no idea on who Bill might look to bring in as a GM.  The two names I have heard, though, as potential GMs are Jeff Ireland (Cowboys VP of scouting) and John Schneider (Packers personnel analyst).  But does it really matter when you consider Bill will have final say on all personnel moves?  I'd imagine this won't be as big of a deal as some are making it out to be.

As for the two "big" coaches: Cam and Dom.  Cameron's future was always in question and now you'd have to assume it's in even more rockier footing than ever.  However, Cam does have a connection (in a way) to Bill.  Parcells is close friends with Bobby Knight and shares many beliefs with Knight.  Cam was mentored by Knight at Indiana and is a believer in much of Knight's concepts and beliefs.  Perhaps this will help Cam's future.  Or maybe Knight will give Bill a call and tell him that he thinks Cam has the makings of a good coach.  I don't know and, at this point, it's anyone's guess.

Dom Capers has a closer connection to Parcells than Cam does.  Tom Coughlin is a "Parcells guy" and Capers spent 2 seasons working under Coughlin.  Perhaps that has an impact on Dom's future with the Dolphins.  But perhaps it doesn't.

What people do want to know is who might be the next head coach if Cam is given the pink slip.  That's a good question and there's a number of guys you could consider.  There are a number of current head coaches who are a descendant of the Parcells coaching tree.  But some, like Sean Payton and Bill Belichick, aren't likely leaving their jobs anytime soon.  However, there are a few that could be getting canned at season's end.  Some of those are Tom Coughlin, Mike Nolan, and Marvin Lewis.

Then you got some top coordinators who stem from the Parcells tree and who might be ready to be a head coach in the NFL.  The most intriguing of those would definitely be Jason Garrett.  Garrett, despite hacing connections to the Dolphins, is likely the next head coach of the Cowboys once Wade Phillips is done.  So would Garrett want to leave Dallas in order to get a definite head coaching job and to have Bill Parcells as his boss?  Maybe.  But I'm not sure what he's thinking, so I don't know if this is even a consideration.  Other top coordinators from the Parcells tree include Josh McDaniels (OC, NE) and Mike Zimmer (DC, Atl).

Then there's the college coaches who are branches of the Parcells tree.  To me, the most interesting candidate here would be Iowa head coach Kirk Ferentz.  Ferentz is held in high regard as the "next great NFL coach from the college ranks."  But I'm not so sure I'd want to go down this road again.  Remember, Nick Saban was also a branch from the Parcells tree and a top college coach.  And we all know how that played out.  Other potential college coaches would be Fresno State's Pat Hill, Virginia's Al Groh, and Notre Dame's Charlie Weis.  But to be honest, I wouldn't really be interested in any of those.

So that's enough rambling for me.  This gives you, if nothing else, a good start when considering what the future might look like with Parcells running the show.  And all we can hope for, really, is to become a relevant NFL team again.  And Parcells is likely the guy who can get us there.

Thoughts below...

YOU GOTTA BELIEVE
I BELIEVE. Matty I'm right with ya. I wouldn't had wanted him as a coach, but to come in a do this job? O Hell ya! He rebuilt every franchise he has went too. Even the Pats and Jets when they sucked for all those years. The man knows talent. I'm so excited for the future of my beloved franchise. Its like the were in a coma on life support, then all of a sudden they woke up. I really can't put it into words. Theres hope man, thank God theres hope!

I'll tell ya what I believe...
I believe that with all of the positive energy surrounding the team right now (with the win last week and the Bill P hire), after this hell of a season, that the momentum might just be enough to give NE a run for their money this week.

Call me crazy, but I believe!

...and i believe I'll have another drink.

Crazy!
And saying foolish things like that, I believe you had 1 too many already. hehe But I'll be pulling for my Fins none-the-less.

I have a question for the Can-Camers...
Neo, Natalya, et al:

Hypothetically speaking, of course, but how will you feel if Parcells sticks with Cameron?

By the way, this isn't setting you up for criticism, nor do I have any ulterior motive.  I am just curious.  I've read positive things from both of you regarding the Parcells move, so how will you respond to another year of Cam if it receives Parcells' endorsement?

Long-time listener, first-time caller, and I'll take my answer off the air.

Go Dolphins.

If Parcells sticks with Cameron?
All I can say is I trust Parcells with my beloved Fins. If he sticks with Cam, then so be it. I KNOW he knows more about coaching and football than I do.

BTW

~Long-time listener, first-time caller, and I'll take my answer off the air.~

Nice touch.

by Neo on Dec 20, 2007 12:35 AM EST to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

well since i'm not wild about parcells
I sort of expect him to keep Cam, and wayne wants Cam too. plus if the fins flop next year it gives parcels someone to stick on a goat and kick out of town.

All that said, I wouldn't be happy. Cam has proven this year that he would rather pick players off other teams waiver wires then play rookies and draft picks. That does not translate into developing a winning team. (well maybe it does because you do end up with a lot of young talent after you go 2-14 for three or four years... look at detroit)

So I think the Can Cam party is still on in my book.... however I am now a BIG GIANTS fan this year. I want no part of coughlin.

He might keep Cam,
but I think Bill is coming to clean house.

by Neo on Dec 20, 2007 12:52 AM EST to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

I do hope this is true
I hope he cleans out the medical staff
right down to the scouting department.

I don't like parcells, but I really think it's about time that a proven winner was put in charge of all football operations. I think that is/was the great move here.

by W NY Fins Fan on Dec 20, 2007 12:56 AM EST to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

I personally would not have a problem with it
as long as Parcells is mentoring him and keeping him on a short leash.  Cam may, indeed, develop into a quality NFL coach, but this past season is evidence to me that he needs help and guidance.

Free Agents
First off: here's hoping you're right, Matty.

On the subject of FAs, though, I'm a bit surprised by the frequency with which I'm hearing what I'll call the Shirelles Theory of Free Agency: the notion that talented FAs won't go to a struggling franchise -- that they have to respect you first.

I've been watching the NFL for 30 years, and I just don't see the evidence that that's the case in any except rare instances.  Free agents go where the money is, period.  If bad teams pay more for them, it's because bad teams are more desperate for them.  Free agents don't want more money to go to a bad team; they just want more money.

by urbino on Dec 20, 2007 12:34 AM EST reply reply actions actions   0 recs

sort of
Free agents do go to bad teams, but I do think the elite ones do end up at the best teams.
and the bad teams end up paying big bucks for the marginal ones.

Now, I don't know if this is just a case of the good teams make good moves and throw their money at the elite free agents, and the bad teams don't evalutate on the same metric or that the elite player only looks for winning teams.... hard to tell without being in the business. I'd love to read something from leigh stienberg on the subject.

This guys is acting like Bill
is coming in to coach. He named JJ, Saban, Gibbs, these men were coaches. JJ wasn't bad, built our beloved defense and Gibbs? He was out the NFL for how long? Bill hasn't really totally left. Bill is just coming in to oversee the personel, not coaching. He is perfect for this job I think.

-I could be worng, been told so before.-

Eh
It's Le Batard, so don't put too much stock into what he says.  And you're right, Neo.  He's acting as if Bill is coaching, which he is not.  But Le Batard's going to write whatever he can do differentiate himself from the others so that he gets more attention.

by Matty I on Dec 20, 2007 1:42 AM EST to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

ok lemme break it down for you
As recent as THIS offseason. We were in the market for Kelley Washington & Donte Stallworth. Where did they end up??? thats right, New England, because they wanted to win.

We could easily snagged Randy Moss too for 4th round pick... if he thought we could win a superbowl here!

The elite players wanna go where they can win, and thats how you win championships is by beign able to assemble elite players that can work together.

by YatilGinnJr on Dec 20, 2007 3:14 AM EST reply reply actions actions   0 recs

yeah, I have to agree with the premise
if you have a FA who can get pretty much the same money he is going to go to the place with the best opportunity to pad his resume.

Adalius Thomas is a good example, I think.  NE picked him up for about the same thing we paid Joey P.  He is young, and went to the pro-bowl last year.  But we never really had a shot at him, because he had the chance to get paid AND go to a SB contender.

I think guys want to win, and when you get to the big bucks, there is not THAT much difference in the cash.

by LeftCoastFinFan on Dec 20, 2007 11:37 AM EST to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

Moss Cuts Both Ways
The last time he was a FA, he left a team that was young and in playoff contention to go to the Raiders, who were neither.

by urbino on Dec 20, 2007 12:56 PM EST to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

there are always exceptions
and sometimes someone is motivated by "other factors".  I have never really understood Moss.  He always seemed to be squandering his amazing talent.  Maybe he finally woke up.

by LeftCoastFinFan on Dec 20, 2007 1:04 PM EST to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

We just disagree on...
which case is the exception.  I think it's the FA who is more motivated by respectability than by money, and you guys think it's the other way around.

by urbino on Dec 20, 2007 1:08 PM EST to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

What will Parcells do at QB?
No matter what happens in the draft regarding QB, this team will need to go out and get a starting QB for next year. Beck may be able to start, but we need a proven veteran just in case he is not (I'm assuming Lemon is not re-signed). Not many FA QBs interest me, but McNabb doesn't sound too happy in Philly. I would love to trade for him. Do that and get a couple of FA (seconday, oline, WR) and this team may be respectable. What do you guys think?

by clownfish on Dec 20, 2007 3:34 AM EST reply reply actions actions   0 recs

Assuming...
...Beck starts next year, and the goal is to get a competent backup, I'd say go after Grossman or Kyle Orton.

by tenaciouslee on Dec 20, 2007 8:37 AM EST to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

As a QB, I don't like McNabb
never did.  nothing to do with race  (to pre-empt anyone piping in about black QBs not getting a fair shake - I loved Warren Moon and Randall Cunningham)  :)

I just think McNabb is another in a long line of guys that was good, but not good enough to get it done.

I would rather see us draft another QB, and resign Lemon or Green as a backup.  Let Beck have a chance to win the job against Lemon or Green in training camp, and let the third guy work his way in if Beck doesn't pan out.

by LeftCoastFinFan on Dec 20, 2007 12:56 PM EST to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

While I think McNabb...
was very good earlier in his career, I don't think he would be a good pickup for the Dolphins.  He's on the decline, has become too inconsistent, and will get seriously overpaid for this off-season.

by urbino on Dec 20, 2007 12:59 PM EST to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

Guys...
McNabb has a contract with the Eagles next year, so the only way he comes is via trade. If this team was just a QB away from being a SB contender, then maybe, but we are many, many players away from a SB.

I feel in this situation, you have to have someone younger who has more years. Not to mention we can't afford to give up draft picks.

FWIW, I think when healthy, McNabb is a top 5 QB.

And Left, can I guess you'd like to draft the QB with by far the best name in a while? That would be one Colt Brennan :)

I even heard some nut
say that Parcells might even try to get Bledsoe to come out of retirement, mentioning he is only 35. It was on ESPN 1st Take. Skip Bayless.

Now that is a personal attack.

by Neo on Dec 20, 2007 1:14 PM EST to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

LOL
A personal attack or just something so ridiculous that it makes you laugh uncontrollably.

let's forget that parcells basically ended Bledsoe's career by benching him for Romo.

Pretty good move, ya think? :)

by Natalya on Dec 20, 2007 1:16 PM EST to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

don't be silly!
that guy is way more mobile than Bledsoe!

by LeftCoastFinFan on Dec 20, 2007 2:11 PM EST to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

LOL
Fine, fine, nitpick why don't you? :)

And he probably is more mobile, I mean he at least has his arm back ready whereas I think I'd have to find a statue under center taking the snap, to really capture Bledsoe's essence.

by Natalya on Dec 20, 2007 2:14 PM EST to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

LOL!!!
No, that is not strictly correct.  I would not rule out Beck, but I also think that you can always get value out of a good QB.  With that being said, I don't know that I would draft a QB in the 1st or 2nd round.  That would probably preclude the choice to select the guy with the great name.

However, if he was available late in the 2nd, early in the 3rd... sure!

Also, if Parcells believes we need a QB early, I would not be unhappy if he grabbed Matt Ryan with the #1.

Man, you did a great job putting this blog together on parcells. Very well done sir. Impressive.

by Spacefish on Dec 20, 2007 4:06 AM EST reply reply actions actions   0 recs

The "attractive to free agents"...
idea applies to Parcells as well.  I see him as perhaps the biggest free agent of all in this situation.  I don't think he comes to Miami unless he sees real potential to turn things around.  The Patriots, Jets, and Cowboys jobs all offered the opportunity to come to teams in shambles, but with lots of early draft picks and a nucleus of young talent. That way, he got to build with "his guys" and get the young guys who were already there under his thumb before they became too enamored with another system or philosophy.  I actually think that his interest in the Dolphins (which he expressed weeks ago) is a sign that our team isn't as ill as everyone thinks.  Whether or not it's the right move will take time to play out.  He's got a great coaching and personnel track record.  However, it's his history of suddenly growing bored and moving on that bothers me.

I've also been thinking that he keeps Cam and lets Randy go.  The GM name that is already circulating, Ireland from the Cowboys, has put together a very impressive run in Dallas.  I like Randy (not starting a discussion thread here, just stating my feelings) and he's had his own share of successes (and failures, I know, I know), but right now I think this Ireland guy looks great and could be the most valuable acquisition of all.

Last night on HBO's "Inside The NFL", Bob Costas and Peter King were talking about Parcells and the Dolphins.  Peter King (for what it's worth) stated that if Cam were to be let go, then the coaching candidate that comes to his mind is Maurice Carthon, the former player now an assistant coach with Arizona.

P.S.  I think Parcells really showed his savvy yesterday by using the Falcons to get what he wanted from the Dolphins.  It's amazing to me that he can manipulate a couple of billionaires in a matter of hours.  Huizenga, deep in tax trouble and now 70 years old, agrees to keep the team for another four years in order to satisfy Parcells.  He went from a deep-pocketed but more meddling owner of a less-talented team (in my humble opinion -- I truly think the Falcons are in worse shape than we are) to an equally-wealthy open-checkbook owner with a better team.  And he did it in half a day...

Go Dolphins.

by lancelotlink on Dec 20, 2007 10:31 AM EST reply reply actions actions   0 recs

Let's not forget....
....the relationships he has with other GM's and owners.  When it comes to making trades, or swapping draft picks, other teams may be more likely to deal with someone whom they've developed a relationship with and respect rather than some unknown...

This could make trading our #1 pick a lot more likely, assuming that's what Parcells would want to do.

by tenaciouslee on Dec 20, 2007 10:49 AM EST reply reply actions actions   0 recs

Hmmm....
lots to talk about with these posts.

First off, for some reason and I have some suspicions as to why, certain people are acting as if Parcells has just been named Emperor and Fuhrer of the Dolphins. This is a front-office job guys, parcells isn't going to be holding a clipboard or sending in plays etc. He'll get guys he trusts and let them do their thing.

As to cam....I have a very, very hard time seeing him as dolphins HC next year. Granted, I could be wrong of course.

Now in the unlikely scenario that Parcells keeps cam? I'd judge cam like any other coach - if he got better, and in light of how bad he's been this year that wouldn't be hard...but if he got better, i'd commend him and if he made the same calls next year that he's making this year, then I'd call him out.

by Natalya on Dec 20, 2007 11:40 AM EST reply reply actions actions   0 recs

Emperor and Fuhrer of the Dolphins
Nat he is.

~This is a front-office job guys, parcells isn't going to be holding a clipboard or sending in plays etc~

Very true, but the buck stops with Bill. When he comes in he is head over everyone, that makes him "Emperor and Fuhrer". If you were there, you would see palms sweating and knees shaking when Parcells comes near. If your not doing the job, your gone.

It's gonna be great.

I just don't see Parcells
letting things get as far out of hand with any coach as happened this year.  i think, as much as he wants to "get guys he trusts and let them do their thing", that he won't hesistate to step in and "persuade" the HC to make some "suggested" changes to keep the train from coming off the tracks.

by LeftCoastFinFan on Dec 20, 2007 1:00 PM EST to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

Oh!...he'll manage...
I think the early phase of the Parcells/Cameron/Meuller era.  This offseason will be when Bill will assess strengths and weaknesses of these guys in the bigger picture of the overall operations.  He will give them specific areas to improve...just like any good boss should do.  Just as players he's graded based on performance, he will do the same for these guys.

I think he will be willing to offer suggestions/advice if asked.  But he will be watching for improvement regardless.  This wonderful Blog has exhaustively detailed any strengths and weaknesses on a daily basis.  With Bill in the seat...I believe he will be holding them accountable for their respective roles and actions.  In a measurable way...his way.

Peace

The circus still rolling through town
"Bill Parcells is on the verge of joining the Dolphins as head of football operations, but indicated he has not yet signed a contract despite widespread reports he has.

Parcells, reached at his home in Saratoga Springs, N.Y., told The Post this afternoon "it's not official yet." An announcement is expected later today, but Parcells has been known to back out of handshake deals before a contract has been signed." says the PBP.

I'm sure its a technicality (i hope!) but I want this thing official and over with

maybe he is playing us like has been
surmised by several others?  Maybe he is really trying to get a deal with the NYG?

Parcells just on ESPN..
He was just on ESPN 30 seconds ago being interviewed by Trey Wingo..  Deal is done.
Definition of Insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results...

John Clayton
of ESPN did say that Bill Parcells probably (he didn't say probably, but he used a word that sound more than likely) will clean house including Cam Cameron.

Intresting
Clayton is usually dead on

Positive Thoughts
I don't like that Parcells has been abrasive with past owners, players, and employees.

I like that one person will be in charge.  It is more effective than a committee.

I like that Cameron's and Mueller's future will be decided on sooner than later.  I prefer to stay in limbo as little as possible.

If he is going to be fair with those two, all he needs to answer is one question:  Are they on the right track.  Are they building towards a winner?

If so, teach them how to do their jobs better and shorten the rebuilding phase.

If not, bring in your own guys and all the pressure is on you.

In any case, Parcells picked an interesting week to join the Dolphins.  I wonder if the media will credit him if the Dolphins win.

I think Cam
was set on playing Cleo the last 2 games. I wonder if Bill will pressure him to play Beck at all just to see him in perseon to get a more general idea of what to do in the draft. I know its only 1 game, still.

Dunno...
but the only thing Parcells will have on Beck are the tapes of past games. Is that enough? Maybe, maybe not.

So I wouldn't be shocked to see Beck again somewhere in these final 2 games.

goodness I can
only hope, that someone convinces Cam that playing Cleo is NOT in the best interest of the team. I hope to have seen Cleo play the last time ever as a dolphin. (I would like to see him play 2x a year either as a bill, jet, or Pat)
What a great way for him to leave too, leaving on the best play of his most likely short career.
