Targeting Breakdown: Week 12 Edition
Despite the terrible conditions that the game was played in, John Beck was still able to complete over 60% of his passes. If you remember last week, John targeted receivers just 52% of the time. Well this week, that number drastically increased, which is certainly a positive. Of John's 22 passes (he attempted 23, but 1 was a throw-away), 14 of them (64%) were intended for a receiver. Marty Booker was actually targeted the most this week, have 8 passes thrown his way. Last week, Marty only had 1 pass thrown his direction. Ted Ginn was targeted 5 times, catching 3 of them. He currently has caught 64% of the passes thrown his way since John became starter. That's certainly a good sign. I guess those who questioned Teddy's hands were way off.
Meanwhile, a running back was only targeted 3 times on Monday night. And one of those was off of a deflection by a Steelers lineman in which the ball fell into the hands of Chatman for a loss of 4. So why no swing passes like we've been accustomed to seeing? Maybe they just weren't there at all thanks to good coverage by Pittsburgh. Or maybe Cam saw that John struggled last week completing swing passes and decided to avoid them until John could get better timing with his backs. Either way, Cam seemed to replace those swing passes with WR screens. Personally, I like the WR screen, especially to Ginn. If executed and blocked right, it would be a very big play.

Question for you about Beck
At first glance I would agree...
Queston: Who do you think our #2 WR should be?
Why not give him a shot?
Any thoughts?

Tight Ends
Their season reception percentages look nice, but I haven't actually seen them perform anywhere close to that level. I've seen a ton of easy catches dropped, especially by Peelle. And they can't block. Not even a little. Ends run through them like sh** through a goose.
When you're a TE and you can't catch and you can't block, there's really not much left for you to do but find another way to make a living.
So maybe on draft day we should be looking at a TE and maybe Jake Long.
Urbino...
Well if they ever want to go to the playoffs that is.
Clearly. But it's a question of timing.
A TE obviously isn't something you're likely to burn your first pick on, but we may need to take one or two in the 2nd-4th rounds with picks we might otherwise have used to land another linebacker or safety.
So....
Aleta...
I said the dolphins could use these upgrades "Well if they ever want to go to the playoffs that is."
IMO the dolphins have a roster this year that is good enough for 4-6 wins over a 16 game season. As is, they have win 0 games, which points to coaching. You of course, may not agree.
So if they want to be a 10 win playoff team, then yes, major upgrades are needed.
But basicly..
Dude.... relax.... :)
Even if Cam is still here next year (which looks likely), Randy will add to the level of talent on the team.

Neo...
So now, insted of taking about the future, which is none with CCam at the helm, let talk about who should be pour new HC. So, were are we? with The Tunafish? and mr jaw? or do you know a HS football HC, let try to cut down to senior teams only or maybe small colleges. I don't think anybody will take this HC job, so let keep it realistic.
Ps I'm relax,i just gave up and want to help people to focus insted of looking at the future with CCam as the HC, remember, there is no future with him there. ;)
