Miami Dolphins All-Time Top 100 Players: 4. Bob Griese

Bob Griese was a 6'1" quarterback from Evansville, Indiana. In three seasons playing his collegiate ball as the starting quarterback with the Purdue Boilermakers, he collected a lifetime rating of 123.5, completing 348-of-609 passes for 4,402 yards, 28 touchdowns and 19 interceptions. He led the Boilermakers to a Rose Bowl victory in his final game, beating USC 14-13. The team finished 9-2, ranked seventh in the final poll of the season.

Miami selected Griese in the first round of the 1967 AFL/NFL Entry Draft with the fourth overall pick. He would wear the number 12 jersey throughout his NFL career. He started 10 games his rookie season, appearing in 12 overall. In a week 13 victory over the Boston Patriots, he completed 17-of-30 passes for 270 yards and three touchdowns and no interceptions. Through the season, he completed 166-of-331 passes for an AFL seventh best 2,005 yards, 15 touchdowns and 18 interceptions, good for a quarterback rating of 61.6, fifth in the AFL. He earned a spot in the AFL All-Star game following the season. Miami finished the season with a 4-10 record, Griese was 3-7.

Miami Dolphins All-Time Top 100 Players: 5. Larry Little

Larry Little, Miami Dolphins, 1971

Little was a 6'1" offensive lineman from Groveland, GA. He played collegiate ball with the Bethune-Cookman Wildcats, going undrafted after graduating with the Class of 1967. The San Diego Chargers signed him to a free agent contract, and he would appear in 24 games over the next two seasons, starting four at offensive guard. Miami traded for Little prior to the 1969 season. According to Sport magazine:

I didn't particularly like the trade, the Dolphins weren't much then."

After wearing the 73 jersey with San Diego, Little would don the number 66 jersey, wearing it throughout his Dolphin's career. After starting 10 of the 12 games in which he appeared in 1969, he was one of four Dolphins selected to play in the AFL Pro Bowl. Miami posted an AFL worst 3-10-1 record on the season. The Dolphins finished near the bottom of the AFL in nearly every offensive category. The team did manage to post an AFL third-best 131 passing first downs on the season.

Miami Dolphins All-Time Top 100 Players: 6. Richmond Webb

Richmond Webb, Miami Dolphins

Richmond Webb was a 6'6", 325 lb. tackle from Dallas. He played four seasons of collegiate ball at Texas A & M, for the Aggies. Miami picked him with their first round selection of the 1990 NFL Entry Draft with the ninth overall pick. He wore the number 78 during his time with the Dolphins.

As a rookie, Webb started all 16 games at left tackle, next to fellow rookie Keith Sims. Webb was one of four Dolphins selected to the Pro Bowl following the season, winning UPI's AFC Rookie of the Year Award. Miami's 12-4 record was good enough for a wildcard berth. Miami's offensive line led the NFL with 16 sacks allowed, allowing them to finish the season with an NFL fourth best 3,512 passing yards.

In 1991, Webb missed the first two games of the season with an injury, starting the rest of the season at left tackle. He was one of three Dolphins selected to the Hawaii Pro Bowl. Miami finished in the top quarter of the NFL in most passing offense categories, posting a playoff-less record of 8-8.

Miami Dolphins All-Time Top 100 Players: 7. Bob Kuechenberg

Bob Kuechenberg, Miami Dolphins, 1983

Kuechenberg was a 6'2" offensive lineman from Gary, IN. He played four seasons in college with the Notre Dame Fightning Irish, graduating with the Class of 1969. The Philadelphia Eagles selected him in the fourth round of the 1969 AFL/NFL Entry Draft with the 80th overall pick. He failed to make the team out of training camp, also missing the cut with the Atlanta Falcons. He would spend the 1969 season with the Minor League Chicago Owls. Miami picked him up prior to the 1970 season, where Kuechenberg wore the number 67.

As a rookie in 1970, Kuechenberg started five of Miami's 14 games at left guard. Miami's rushing offense powered to an AFC best 2,082 yards and 14 touchdowns as Miami's three-headed running back attack each gained over 400 yards. Miami made the playoffs for the first time in Dolphin's history by posting a franchise best 10-4 record on the season.

Miami Dolphins All-Time Top 100 Players: 8. Bob Baumhower

Bob Baumhower, Miami Dolphins

Bob Baumhower was a 6'5" defensive lineman from Portsmouth, VA. During his collegiate career, he was twice selected to the All-American second squad while playing with the Alabama Crimson Tide. Miami picked him up in the second round of the 1977 NFL Entry Draft with the 40th overall pick. He would wear the number 73 jersey throughout his NFL career.

Baumhower started all 14 games of his rookie season at the nose guard position, making around 100 tackles. In a week 10 loss to the Cincinnati Bengals, he made a season high 12 tackles along with two sacks and a fumble recovery. In week 13, he made seven tackles, blocked a field goal and recovered two fumbles in a 14-10 loss to the New England Patriots. Miami posted a 10-4 record, missing the playoffs. The defense allowed 197 points on the season, the second lowest point total in the AFC.

Miami Dolphins All-Time Top 100 Players: 9. Nat Moore

Nat Moore, Miami Dolphins

Nat Moore was a 5'9" wide receiver from Tallahassee. After starting college with the Junior College University of Tennessee-Martin Skyhawks, Moore finished his college career with the Florida Gators. He earned All-SEC selection and an honorable mention All-American nod for his 1972 junior season. Miami selected him in the third round of the 1974 NFL Entry Draft with the 78th overall pick. He would wear the number 89 jersey through his career.

As a rookie, Moore appeared in 13 games, starting seven at wide receiver, leading the Dolphins with 605 yards on 37 catches, scoring two touchdowns. He also returned nine punts for 136 yards and 22 kickoffs for 587 yards, an NFL seventh best 26.7 yard average. He also ranked 10th in the league with 1,344 all-purpose yards. Miami won the AFC East title with an 11-3 record, ranking third in the NFL with 327 points scored and leading the league with 6.6 yards gained per pass attempt. Moore's best game of the season was a six catch, 95 yard performance in a week seven victory over the Baltimore Colts, 17-7. In the ill-fated AFC Divisional "Sea of Hands" game, Moore caught two passes for 40 yards. He also returned three kickoffs for 137 yards, including an 89-yard touchdown to open the game.

Miami Dolphins All-Time Top 100 Players: 10. Jim Langer

Jim Langer, Miami Dolphins

Langer was a 6'2" linebacker and an honorary All-American with the class of 1969 South Dakota State University Jackrabbits. After going undrafted, he signed a free agent contract with the Cleveland Browns but did not stick with the team through training camp. He signed another free agent contract to play with the Dolphins, appearing sparingly (in six games) during his rookie season. He wore the number 62 jersey through his Miami career.

In 1971, Langer again appeared off the bench for Miami, earning playing time in all 14 of Miami's games. Miami went 10-3-1 that season, earning their first ever Super Bowl appearance, losing to the Dallas Cowboys, 24-3 in Super Bowl VI.

Miami Dolphins All-Time Top 100 Players: 11. Mark Duper

Mark Duper, Miami Dolphins, 1986

Mark Duper was a 5'9" wide receiver with the NCAA Division I-AA Northwestern State University Demons. Miami picked him up in the second round of the 1982 NFL Entry Draft, with the 52nd overall pick. He wore the number 85 jersey throughout his Dolphin's career.

In 1982, Duper had no impact on Miami's strike-shortened 7-2 record and subsequent AFC Championship. He only appeared in two games, never touching the ball.

Duper started 11 of 16 games for the 1983 Dolphins, making the Pro Bowl roster in the progress, one of seven Dolphins to make the cut. For the first time, he broke the 1,000-yard barrier, finishing with a team leading 1,003 yards on 51 catches, finishing sixth in the league with 10 touchdowns scored. His 19.7 yards per catch ranked him fifth in the NFL. He had three games during the season where he gained over 100 receiving yards, and on two occasions scored two touchdowns. This includes a week six loss to the Buffalo Bills, 38-35 where he caught seven passes for 202 yards and two scores. The Dolphins finished the season 12-4, making the playoffs. Duper caught nine passes for 117 yards and a score in Miami's 27-20 loss to the Seattle Seahawks in the divisional round of the playoffs.
