Baltimore Ravens 2008 NFL Draft Preview
The most obvious need for Baltimore is at quarterback, but chances are the team won't meet that need with the No. 8 pick. Boston College's Matt Ryan, the only Top-10 worthy signal-caller in this draft, is likely to be gone by then, meaning Baltimore could target one of the second- tier QB talents - Chad Henne (Michigan), Brian Brohm (Louisville), or Joe Flacco (Delaware) - with the 38th overall pick. In the first round, the advancing age of cornerbacks Chris McAlister and Samari Rolle is likely to have the team looking long and hard at Mike Jenkins (South Florida), Leodis McKelvin (Troy), and Aqib Talib (Kansas) to bolster that department. Elsewhere on defense, GM Ozzie Newsome and new head coach John Harbaugh could look to upgrade a pass rush that was a disappointment last season, as well as an aging linebacking corps. Apart from the QB slot, the biggest need on offense is up front, where the expected retirement of left tackle Jonathan Ogden and the unlikely return of center Mike Flynn has created some depth issues.
