Dolphins vs Steelers injury report

Mitch Stringer-USA TODAY Sports

The Miami Dolphins and Pittsburgh Steelers meet up in Week 14 of the 2013 season, with Miami looking to at least stay in the playoff chase while Pittsburgh is trying to climb back into it. Both teams released their first injury reports of the week yesterday.,

The NFL's Week 14 schedule includes the Miami Dolphins visiting the Pittsburgh Steelers, in a match up of two teams trying to find a way into the AFC Playoffs. With the game on Sunday, the two teams released their official injury reports last night.

For the Dolphins, three players were unable to participate in Wednesday's workout. Guard John Jerry, who had to leave Sunday's game against the New York Jets with an undisclosed injury, has a concussion. Cornerback Jamar Taylor continues to have hamstring issues, which kept him out of last week's contest, while running back Daniel Thomas sat out the practice, but was present despite what is thought to be a season ending ligament tear in his ankle.

Miami had four players limited during the workout, including safety Chris Clemons, who has been starting despite the limited practice reps he has been getting in recent weeks thanks to knee and hamstring issues, and tight end Michael Egnew, who has a neck injury. Running back Lamar Miller (pectoral) and cornerback Dimitri Patterson (groin) were also both limited.

Finally, the Dolphins listed quarterback Ryan Tannehill as a full participant in the practice, but disclosed an injury to his right thumb.

As for the Steelers, their report began with defensive end Brett Keisel being ruled out of the contest with a foot injury. Keisel has been trying to battle through plantar faciitis this year, but, in his return after missing two weeks, aggravated it during the Steelers' Thanksgiving night game with the Baltimore Ravens.

Pittsburgh had three other players, tackle Kelvin Beachum (knee), guard David DeCastro (foot), and defensive tackle Steve McLendon (ankle), miss the practice as well. Linebacker LaMarr Woodley was limited during Wednesday's workout.

With an ankle issue. the Steelers listed tackle Mike Adams on the report as a full participant in practice. Also in the full participant category was running back Le'Veon Bell, who suffered a concussion in a violent goal line hit against the Ravens, a hit that saw Bell's helmet ripped off, with Bell later admitting he has no memory of the play.

Both teams will update their injury reports tomorrow. Miami does not practice on Thursdays, so the update will be an estimation of who would have practiced if the team held a workout.

The teams kickoff at 1pm ET on Sunday.
