Tom Brady injury added to Thursday Dolphins at Patriots injury report

Stew Milne-USA TODAY Sports

The Miami Dolphins visit the New England Patriots this Sunday in the first of the two annual meetings between the franchises. The teams released their second injury reports of the week yesterday, with Patriots quarterback Tom Brady making an appearance on the list.

On Wednesday's first injury reports of the week for the Miami Dolphins and New England Patriots, the top name on the list was Dolphins quarterback Ryan Tannehill, who was limited in practice with a right shoulder injury. Yesterday, both teams released their second reports of the week, with Patriots quarterback Tom Brady showing up on the report as limited with a right shoulder injury.

Of course, for the Patriots, Brady being on the injury report for a right shoulder problem is almost as common as head coach Bill Belichick not actually answering the question asked. The Patriots, as the season wears on, lists more and more players on the injury report, especially Brady, who they will give fewer reps in practice, just to rest his arm, then list him as "limited."

Therefore, you really should not read anything to the addition of Brady; he's going to play on Sunday. Likewise, expect Tannehill to be ready to play in Foxboro.

The rest of the injury report remains identical to the Wednesday edition. Along with Tannehill, the Dolphins listed linebacker Dannell Ellerbe (shoulder), wide receiver Brandon Gibson(shoulder), and tackle Bryant McKinnie (knee) as limited. Cornerback Brent Grimes (back), linebacker Koa Misi(knee), cornerback Dimitri Patterson (groin), and defensive end Cameron Wake (knee) were all listed as full participants in Wednesday's workout.

Brady is joined on the list by defensive lineman Tommy Kelly (knee) and running back Leon Washington (ankle) both were non-participants in practice. Wide receiver Danny Amendola (concussion/groin), running back Brandon Bolden(knee), offensive lineman Marcus Cannon (shoulder), wide receiver Julian Edelman (thigh), tight end Rob Gronkowski, tight end Michael Hoomanawanui, wide receiver Matthew Slater (wrist), cornerback Aqib Talib (hip), and defensive back Tavon Wilson (hamstring) were all limited in the Wednesday workout.

The team also listed cornerbacks Kyle Arrington (groin) and Devin McCourty (shoulder), as well as defensive lineman Rob Ninkovich (groin) on the report, but as full participants in practice.

Miami and New England will both release their final injury report of the week some time today. They face off in the 1pm ET time slot Sunday.
