Saturday/Sunday Random Live Thread Holiday Weekend Edition

This is one of our daytime random live threads. I will post one each non holiday Monday through Friday (and and occasional one on the weekends). Feel free to stop in during your work day and chat about whatever. There are never any set subject's but as always we prefer that you stay as far away from politics and religion. Also as this is a day time thread and not a nighttime CKC please keep the conversation as close to a PG as possible.

Also I do not care if you post picks during these threads but try and keep them to a maximum of one or two per person with something in the subject line so that they may be closed. In the past we have had issues with the same person posting several and that only serves to slow down the whole thread for everyone. Also please refrain from placing GIF's in to live threads as they severely slow down the load time of the thread for those on a slower connection.

TD city; comming to a ball field near you!

The story is out, just how are we gonna replace all thoes touch-downs Brandon Marshall in one game (the pro-bowl) scraching head thats a tall order oh yeah he never did that for us & the corners were never so losey goosey
how many did he score 4-5 TD's can't remember thats how much he ment to me. Oh & i watch the Pro-Bowl game.

Is life after (Marshall) gonna be set with Proxys, damn now wouldn't that be something. Its a shame i'm not Steve Austin aka (Lee Majors) six million dollar man, get me a new "set of wheeles" got a crazy set of flippers, haft to (change name) to mudder i like wet conditions. Any ol way the ground & pound is history & as was said in an earler edition of (Hot Topics) are scoring avg. is going up to the 35 point range.

Also said in an earler peice, Drone Technolagy; is gonna be next for those theives that love intercorse with technolagy, a hot-bed for trouble if you ask me. The booming industry of scoring TD's is gonna rock our small stadium to its core. We will avg.43 points a game, & fill the stadium at home, with home crowd bodys. Uens know this will drive those old trolls nuts just to read this.

Our Oline is happiley "filled with stars" from (Tight End to Tight End) we have a "cutting edge Tackle's" There's two Mountain men to cover the Guard hole, just give our starter enuff reps in practice to get comfortable order your jumbo gallon container of soda & the oversize container of popcorn. (Oh TY Tex; now you know the the underlying-meaning to the "can of corn" expression).

We have brightened our vivacious future by turning two (#2 pick into #3) picks in the draft, oh & your welcome John Elway.

Anything & everything on "Miami's new" head coach Joe Philbin!

Plans already in place, the convicted criminal Billycheat has spared no anomosity for going after information. If one of those (aerial photographic spy drones) you know the ones that fly 50,000 ft. in the air, can be had. Now ther not just for military any more. If you have the bucks you to can get one (Boomerang), oh heres the low down "Candance Lombardi" whom just so happens (note the football conection) to live in the Boston area. And is a member of the Blog Network CNET. Yes there are Rumors & she has her own blog, Planetary Gear & very smart woman to boot!

******Billicheat is trying to study every "aspect" of our (new head coach) as he possible can take in, as he knows just how dangerous coach Philbin can be. With all that "hardwear hes won" albeit with the Packers, but the admeration is there all the same. Perhaps hes going over tape of GreenBays Offence, as it will not be twice every 3-4 years. But knowing he will be playing this coach every year twice thats an eight of your season & won/loss collium as well.

**********To go at exstroidanary lengths for info, he may even be in possisition to pick up a relased player or two from the (Green Bay team) the only team that you could figure it would help the most, might be New England, pump pump pump pumppump!

Tannehill should no matter what "start" at sum point this year?!?

If you call the Heart, the main thing that (a runner needs) when running stright into a wall of humanity. Sumtimes a really good QB. can be called a Magician by means of exscapeisum. The greatest of all time played for the Minnasotta Vikings, (Fran Tarkington) well damn it, he was the shortest QB in the history of the NFL. (ithink). As was "stresst earler by me" We as fans are truely hung (like a shettland pony) up on the size of our QB's.

Well the gawldamn punch line, needs to be sent across to all "Miami fans" that have a real feeling towards the fickel finger of fate. Lucky is another word that can be used, one can suspect that Tannehill can pull off a heist or two - during the season. Do we over indulage our-selves with thought processes of which QB, should start a season. I can predict perhaps a more substaincial way, of lessing the impact that a call (by a referee) allways that this is just a game of inches.

Suspission of a QB. not being picked in the #1 or #2 spot in the draft, but can you justify the man as a starter? Then i think back, to a "new head coach" cumming into our division from another team & being a head-coach (Rex Ryan). I watched him reach up in "the draft" to sucure a QB. Mark Sanchez wooff, i think not friends & fins alike but hot-damn i want to belive if we give our rookie QB. a bit of lattatude we will discover he is leaps & bounds ahead of were the QB that started for the Jets after going up in the draft to get Sanchez.

Yeremiah Bell will be missed...

This was originally a response to the front page post of his signing with the NYJ, but considering the down time here I thought I would make a post out of it to try and elicit some discussion, I hope it does.

I don't think people realize how much this is going to hurt the early development of our secondary, and defense in general.

Yeremiah Bell was not only the leader of the secondary, he was the leader of the defense, his inability to cover is WAY overrated, he was ALWAYS having to help and look out for the FS, because we had very inconsistent play there, he was ALWAYS having to help and look out for our LBs inability to cover TEs, he is one of the better coverage SSs in the league, he is never out of position, and on many occasions he saved the afore mentioned cheese, and he did all this while leading the team in tackles AGAIN, getting more tackles than our 10 million a year ILB…. AGAIN.

Can we stop crowning Tannehill already?

Just a little background information. I'm a 43 year old Dolphin fan. I was born in Houston but my brother sold me on the Dolphins back in 1984. Been a Dolphin fan ever since. I was there through the best of times and the worst of times. My history with this team is not bandwagon. My history with this team is sheer loyalty to Dolphin history and brand name. I've seen them come and I've seen them go.

With that being said, can we put the brakes on crowning Tannehill already? I can't believe how many FanPosts there are about how great and outstanding Ryan will be. Okay, can you same folks give me next weeks lottery numbers?

Here is a thought. Let's just deal with the empirical evidence before us. Nothing about this organization concludes they made the right moves in this last draft. Absolutely nothing proves Ireland is any smarter than Tuna. And we all blame Tuna right? Everyone blames Tuna and Jeff gets a pass. My goodness, Jeff was GM for all these years. Am I to believe he had no authority whatsoever. Okay okay okay, I've read and heard they were alternating drafts or some other kind of nonsense. First of all, I don't believe that. And second of all, it still doesn't matter. Jeff was apart of all those drafts if he was drafting or not. At the very least he was HEAD SCOUT.

Crowning Ryan is a big mistake if you are a true Dolphin fan. The kid was a WR. The kid started 19 games. The kid didn't even have that great of a record. The kid can't get it done a lot of times in the second half. The kid is a kid. But here we are crowning him before he took one NFL snap. Its misguided to think this kid will win like Brady wins. Our schedule is not a cake walk. IIRC, only two teams we play this season had a worse record than us. Oh right, Philbin and Sherman are here. Tannehill is Jesus and Philbin/Sherman are his creators. Philbin has never head coached anything and Sherman was fired TWICE? What makes anyone think McCarthy wasn't responsible for Rodgers? What makes anyone think McCarthy wasn't responsible for Green Bay in general? Yet, here we are crowning Tannehill, Philbin and Sherman like they did something and they ain't done nothing yet.

Please explain this, I am confused.

The NYJ Jets traded up 3 years ago to get Sanchez and mostly positive things were said very few if any negative. He was 22 and started 1 year and USC. Not many People were shocked when he was a week one starter for the Jets. As a rookie and Sophmore he led the jets to the AFC championship. This year Miami drafts Tannehill 3 spots lower He is 23, Played 2 years as a starting wide reciever and almost 2 years as a starting QB. He ran a pro style offense, Through more out routes then any QB in college(according to Gruden) and most say it is the pass he throws best. This is the pass that most college QBs are judged on. People say yea he put up crazy numbers in college but it was the spread and he can't throw the out route.(There are a ton of college QBs that thrived in the spread but couldnt get a sniff in the draft) He knows almost the entire playbook for the Fins and his entire camp can be used to adjust to the speed of the NFL and has the same QB coach and Sherman. So there is no learning curve for the coaches to figure out what to work on and how he responds to there ways of coaching. Almost all of the Media and Draft Gurus say it was a reach and he is not NFL ready and will need a year or 2 on the bench. His Numbers are very comparable to Sanchez in college and the talent around him was not in the same league as the Trojans. Here are the stats.

SANCHEZ

GP ATT CMP PERC YDS TD INT TD% INT% YDSGM Y/A RATE

NCAA Totals 27 313 487 64.3 3965 41 16 8.4 3.3 246.9 8.1 153.9

TANNEHILL

NCAA Totals 25 479 765 62.6 5382 42 21 5.5 2.7 269.3 7.0 134.3

So why is everyone so down on Tannehill starting this year?

Ryan Tannehill - How an Opinion Can Change

Let me start off by saying, when I heard the Dolphins were planning on drafting Tannehill, I wasn't the biggest of fans. I was excited that they finally thought of drafting a quarterback in the first round, but I felt that Tannehill was not the answer and could not be the franchise quarterback. I thought that, being a wide receiver for half of his college career, there is no way he can lead an NFL team to a Super Bowl, let alone a playoff game.

Today, I decided to do some research on our new quarterback, and my opinion could not have changed more. I watched the entire QB Camp with Jon Gruden and gained a lot of respect for Tannehill. You can tell he loves the game, as he says throughout the entire interview, and that he is a student of the game. When asked to name formations, he comes with 15 off the top of his head. He studies his game and finds his mistakes. He knows his playbook and how to run his offense. He knows how to read defenses, and in a couple cases took charge to run the ball himself for big gains. He knows how the game of football works and he has a great work ethic. He wants to step into an organization and be a leader.

Who knows it could happen season prediction 2012

I decided I would jump on the make your prediction for the season bandwagon this will be my first season prediction so far and it will be a surprise to some and maybe not so much to others, I am on the side of this team being better than what most people are giving us credit for. So here goes nothing:

Week 1 Houston W

Week 2 Oakland W

Week 3 Jets W

Week 4 Arizona W

Week 5 Cinncy ? Could go either way

Week 6 STL W

Week 7 BYE

Week 8 Jets W

Week 9 Indy W

Week 10 Titans W

Week 11 Buff W

Week 12 Seattle W

Week 13 Pats W

Week 14 49ers L

Week 15 Jax W

Week 16 Buff W

Week 17 Pats L

Total is 14-2 or 13-3 Houston is a toss up as well so it could even be a 12-4 season which i will take any day of the year, and should get us in the playoffs as well.

I see the Houston game as a catapult for the season, if we are able to win what is our toughest game of the first half of the season then we will go on a roll and surprise a lot of people at the same time, the other losses on the schedule are the 49ers who have one of the best teams in the NFL right now and should be the division champ again and the Pats who we most always split the season with, the Jets are going to be the joke of the NFL this season trying to play two QB's during a season, do they realize that this isn't college football, this will be the end of Rex Ryan coaching in New York, Tebow is the type of player that will get your coach fired and so is Sanchez in my opinion they will be last place in the division.

I know this is looking at our schedule and being more optimistic than most would tend to agree with but at the same time if we come out hot and have a good start to the season that can carry us through to the second half and steal this division from the Pats since everyone says they are the run away favorites to win it.
