An offseason solution

With all the changes that have been made, and changes that will be made, this figures to be a long/interesting offseason. While obviously I am no general manager, I do believe there are simple fixes that would significantly improve the roster.

Offensive line: Without a doubt the biggest issue the team should deal with. The simple fact of the matter that people may not want to face is that this weakness has been holding our team back for years. It doesn't matter if a team has Jarvis Landry, Brandon Marshall, Mike Wallace, Lamar Miller, etc. All those weapons are no good if an offensive line can't block. The fact that the team wouldn't pay up for Evan Mathis this offseason was pathetic. Dallas Thomas has never been good enough to start on a playoff quality team, and he never will be. This offseason, we MUST sign either Brandon Brooks, Jeff Allen, Alex Boone, etc. Our Dolphins will not make the playoffs until the offensive line receives serious upgrades.

Cornerbacks: I am a big Brent Grimes, and there is no reason he shouldn't be starting for us next season. However, we cant deny that he is getting older and he's at the point where players decline more than they improve. We need to draft or sign a corner who can become our ace number 1 while Grimes can play the other boundary. I like Vernon Hargreaves from Florida a lot, and think he could be a good option for our first pick in the draft.

Linebackers: Some very intriguing options for this position. Firstly, Jelani Jenkins is our one good linebacker, no need to worry there. As for Sheppard, he's just not good. At all. Koa Misi I would be fine with as a starter if we make an upgrade over Sheppard. Internally, I like Neville Hewitt the most of the young rookie linebackers. He's shown a knack for having playmaking ability, something our linebacking core needs desperately. Derek Johnson is one of the best free agents, but that would cost a good amount of money and cap space.

Quarterbacks: Let's pray Adam Gase can work his quarterback magic.

Running back: To keep Lamar or not to keep Lamar. That is the question. We definitely should give him an offer (hope he can take a hometown discount), but he will definitely get some big money offers from elsewhere. I would love to see him stay, but I am a fan of Jay Ajayi, and our cap room is not ideal.

Tight End: Jordan Cameron looks like a potential cap casualty. Since our team does not seem invested in this position, I'm guessing Dion Sims gets first not at starting.

Wide receivers: No complaints... Parker should continue to improve and turn into a beast. Landry, simply said, is the man. Would actually like to see them keep rishard if possible since he and Tanny seem to have a good rhythm.

Defensive Line: Easy, cut Mitchell for cap space, put Phillips into the starting role.

Safety: might as well see if Delmas can stay healthy by some miracle.

Other Notes: It is unrealistic to think we can plug all the holes this offseason, but some issues need priority over others. Offensive line, cornerbacks, and linebackers cannot afford to go unimproved this offseason
