Despite all the talk of the turmoil that surrounded the 49ers in the off-season the managed to travel to Texas and crush the Cowboys for a 28-17 win in their first game of the season. Tonight will mark the 49ers first regular season home game in their new home Levi's Stadium. Last week the 49ers were able to beat the Cowboys by using all phases of the game including returning a fumble on the Cowboys opening drive to take a 7-0 lead that they would never relinquish. The 49ers defense also intercepted Cowboys QB Tony Romo on three consecutive possessions at one point in the game.
The Bears come in to tonight's game trying to avoid an 0 and 2 record to begin the season. Jay Cutler threw for two touchdowns last week but also threw two picks in their overtime loss to the Buffalo Bills. The Bears defense also showed to be poor against the run, at least for one week, giving up 193 yards on the ground. On the other side of the ball the Bears offense could only manage 93 yards on the ground. To have a chance this evening the Bears will need to slow down 49ers QB Colin Kaepernick who threw for two touchdowns last week. The Bears also tend to struggle when traveling west. In their last seven trips to the west coast the Bears have only managed to score more than a touchdown one time.
