While everyone has been putting their thoughts on what our 53 will look like and I think most of us are very similar I thought I'd post mine ahead of time (so when I am spot on later I have proof!!)
QB (2 plus 1 PS): Pretty obvious here in my book on first 2: Tannehill and Moore. My surprise is that Devlin comes back to run our practice squad. I think he is still better than Labato, and Quinn is not eligible for the PS.
RB: (4 plus 1 PS): The obvious first: Moreno, Miller make the team. Here is where it gets a little hazy for me. I go with Gillisee and D. Williams as my 3 and 4. Bye-bye Daniel Thomas. I also keep a practice squad guy in Orleans Darkwa.
TE: (3 plus 1 PS): I see us keeping Clay, Sims and Lynch (simply due to draft status although I'd cut him). We also keep Bracket on the PS. For me the if we keep 4 it is not Egnew, I seriously see us making a move for a veteran like Keller if he can be healthy later on.
WR: (6 plus 1 PS): I think we keep Wallace, Hartline, Gibson, Matthews, Landry (taking PR duties also) for sure. To me it came down to special teams play and that leaves Thigpen as the #6 WR. Although I have Williams and Bins as better WR's than him. This could change if Bins is able to play special teams (I haven't seen that though). Hazel makes the PS.
OL: (9 and 1-2 PS) I see the starting group: Pouncey, Coolige, Smith, Albert and James all making it easy (I think Pouncey avoids the PUP). I have Satele making it (till Pouncey returns), Turner, Thomas, Garner are my 9. I think we keep Brenner if he can be PS eligible. I also see us looking to add a guy cut from another team and letting Garner walk.
So for the offense we have kept: 28 players of the 53. I think we may keep a TE to bump it to 29, but really don't see any on the current roster who have earned that.
You must keep 3 specialty guys in Fields, Denney and whoever (I still think $turgis) wins the kicker battle. So we are at 31 of 53 going to defense.
DL: (8) If you count Dion Jordan as a DL (I do), I see us keeping 9. Odrick, Starks, Mitchell, Wake, Vernon, Jordan, Shelby, Fede are locks. We could keep Johnson/Fransis on original 53 until Jordan returns from suspension and see if he can keep a spot after.
LB: (7) I see locks of Ellerbe, Misi, Tripp, Mccain, Trusnick, Jenkins. I honestly would like to see us cut Wheeler, but can't see Phibin pulling the trigger so he makes it as of now at 7. I would look long and hard at moving Dion Jordan here when he returns and keeping Fransis and cutting either Trusnick or Wheeler if he sucks to start the season.
DB: (8) I see locks of Grimes, Finnegan, Delmas, Jones (after suspension), Wilson, Davis, Taylor, Thomas. The 8th guy will be Akins I think if we can move him to PS after Jones returns.
That's my 53 that I think we keep. If it were me, we'd cut Wheeler and move Jordan to LB to free up more spots on the DL.
AUTHORS EDIT: Apparently I cannot count and need to add 4 guys. So I am adding: Damien Williams (WR), Anthony Johnson (DL), Don Jones (DB), Daniel Thomas (RB).
I am also not quite familiar with how many can make the PS or are eligible. I think we keep 2 LBs on the PS and another DB.
