Dolphinfan4lyfe's way too early mock draft for next season

While the excitement for our team and many others around the league is about to start, and technically we are all still recouping from the five million mock drafts that showed we know nothing about how this team is going to draft going forward, there is still a void that must be filled. Searching for anything and everything regarding the NFL to get my fix, I decided it was time to make my own news. I am starving for anything football and how it relates to my Dolphins. In an effort to make the news myself, I will attempt to see how we can get better next year with a seven round mock draft of my own. Hope you enjoy and here goes.

1: 'Tre Jackson OG FSU

Our rebuild on the Oline is well under way, picking up Albert, drafting our RT of the future, keeping Pouncey, and drafting a Tackle turned Guard in the third round, we grab hopefully what is assumed to be the last piece to our starting Oline's issues. A behemoth at 6'4", 339 lbs. Don't let his size fool you. He moves with suprising athleticism and quickness in both run and pass blocking, and will mirror with the best of them.

2: Durrell Eskridge FS Syracuse

If he would have not suffered a lower body injury at the start of practices this season, he would probably be considered a first round talent. Even still, as of right now, he is considered one of the top Safety prospects in the country, and if he makes it this far, Miami could have its answer as to who finally pairs up with Jones in the back of our secondary. Led the team last year with 79 tackles and four int's.

3: Mike Davis RB South Carolina

What is it with the name Mike Davis??? Seems every year we have a guy with this name entering in the draft. Either way, this 5'9" 216 lb. Bowling ball contributed 1,100+ yards, averaging 5.9 yards per carry, and scored 11 times on the ground. The ONLY reason we have him here is because this apparently is the draft class of the Running back, with 2 given a first round grade, 3 given a second, and 1 more before him given a third. Either way, he seems to be the answer to our woes at running back.

4: Grady Jarrett DT Clemson

With so many contracts for DT's coming up this season, this guy seems like a quality find toy for Kacy Rodgers and the sackback band to play with. A bit undersized at 6'1" 295 lbs, he has under the radar quickness and lateral mobility to start and stop on a dime and shadow runners. Think less pass rush, more run defense with this guy, but he has the talent to change that very quickly.

5: B.J Finney C Kansas State

A talented but still developing Center, has mild mobility that won't make us forget about Pouncey, but given a year or two under Benton and this guy could be something special. A four year starter already, this guy has the experience to know that it takes work to be the best.

6: Stephone Anthony ILB Clemson

Seems like we are double dipping the Clemson Defense pool and for good reason. Though he is a project, he has the experience and the tools to become a solid coverage backer.

7A: Connor Hamlet TE Oregon

Limited action due to injuries may ward off some teams, but in the seventh round, you are bound to be willing to take some chances. At a monsterous 6'7" 265 this guy has the size to be that guy to take the red zone woes off the Dolphins problems to fix list. Thing is, he had two separate knee injuries last season, but when healthy, caught 40 passes for 364 yards. Not too exciting until you add the 5 touchdowns to the list. That means he scored 1 out of every 8 times he touched the ball. Not too shabby.

7B: Jalston Fowler FB Alabama

I know what people are thinking, ughhhh a fullback. Others may say eww Alabama. But here is the thing... Watch this guy... Watch him close. What you will see is a 6'0" 250 lb runningback with a TE frame a little too short to be cast as a blocker, but a little too quick hitched to play linebacker. Because he is a Fullback, almost no one is watching him. But they should be.

Well that is it for my mock draft. Sorry so long, but I have way too much time to kill while waiting for the football God's to grace me with their presence. Please tell me how you think I did, or feel free to add who you would have rather seen us select.
