FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Join us Saturday evening, June 14, 2014 at the baseball field at Florida International University for the First Annual Jimmy Wilson’s Celebrity Softball Charity Game benefiting the Above .500 foundation. The event will feature a Home Run Derby and softball game.

Players from the Miami Dolphins, and other local celebrities will gather together "in the Positive Spirit of Sports" to raise money and awareness for local charities.

"This is great for the fans, to show the world that no matter your circumstances or situation, you can always turn it into a positive" states Jimmy Wilson, the 4-year Safety for the Miami Dolphins. Jimmy, who came from a rough background, spent two years in jail before his outstanding career in Montana, which led him to being drafted in 2011. "My story is a prime example, if you work hard at your goals, anything is possible no matter what environment you come from, and that’s what the Above .500 foundation is all about."

"Our mission is to encourage young people of all ages to live positive lives, never give up, and follow their dreams and we use sports to do that," says the founder and Executive Director, Brawley Sanchez. "This event will fuel our Dream Rallies at the schools and bring excitement to the South Florida community."

Above .500 is a non-profit organization which spreads a positive message to middle and high schools students through after school sports related activities and "Dream Rallies," which consist of motivational speaking, celebrity athletes, positive music and food, as well as give-a-ways, games and learning. Our aim is to improve the lives of the youth through education and the art of sports.

We look forward to seeing you there!!
