Dolphins trade back in 2nd round

Brad Penner-USA TODAY Sports

The Miami Dolphins have traded back in the second round of the 2014 NFL Draft.

The Miami Dolphins have traded back with the San Diego Chargers in the second round of the 2014 NFL Draft.  The Dolphins move from the 50th pick back to the 57th pick.  The team also received pick 125 (4th round) from San Diego in return.

The move comes as the Dolphins were watching most of their potential draft targets get selected ahead of them.  The team could have still selected potential targets like tight end Jace Amaro or defensive tackle Louis Nix III.  Instead, they will wait seven more selections.

After the 57th pick, Miami holds the 81st overall pick as their next selection, coming mid-way through the third round, which will be held later tonight.  The full list of the Dolphins selections are:

Rnd Overall Pick Player
1 19 Ja'Wuan James
2 57
3 81
4 116
4 125
5 155
6 190
7 234

The fourth through seventh rounds take place tomorrow afternoon.
