The Miami Dolphins opened the 2014 NFL Draft with seven picks, and a lot of needs. They still have several of those needs, including linebacker and tight end, but they were able to add an offensive tackle with their first pick in the NFL Annual Selection Meeting. With the 19th pick, the Dolphins drafted Ja'Wuan James.
The Dolphins came into this draft with several potential targets, knowing most of them would likely be off the board before the team could make a selection. Include in that list were tight end Eric Ebron, selected 10th overall by the Detroit Lions, offensive tackle Taylor Lewan, who was selected by the Tennessee TItans with the 11th overall selection, tackle Zack Martin, linebacker C.J. Mosley (17th to the Baltimore Ravens), and safety Calvin Pryor (18th to the New York Jets).
Miami holds the 50th overall pick as their next selection, coming mid-way through the second round. The full list of the Dolphins selections are:
The second round begins tomorrow night at 7pm ET, with the third round immediately following. The fourth through seventh rounds will take place Saturday afternoon.
