The Miami Dolphins announced a roster move today, with offensive tackle Jason Weaver being waived/injured. The team indicated in his release that it was a non-football injury that led to his being waived, with no official description of the injury.
Weaver signed as an undrafted free agent with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers following the 2013 Draft. The Southern Mississippi product was waived at the beginning of training camp this past summer and claimed by the Cincinnati Bengals. He was then waived during the final roster cuts by the Bengals and signed to the Dolphins practice squad at the beginning of September. He spent the year on the practice squad for Miami, before re-signing a reserve/future contract with the team.
The Dolphins currently have Branden Albert, Jason Fox, and Michael Ola listed on the roster as an offensive tackle. The team could also use Nate Garner or Dallas Thomas at the position.
