The Miami Dolphins continue to fill out the roster by signing undrafted free agents. A day after they announced the signing of 18 UDFAs, the team added two more rookies with the signing of Arizona State defensive end Gannon Conway and Tulane running back Orleans Darkwa.
Conway began his college career as a walk-on at Arizona State. He eventually worked his way into a starting position with the Sun Devils, including starting every game of the 2013 season. He recorded 38 tackles and 3.5 sacks last season, earning honorable mention in the All-Pac-12 for the year.
After rushing for a Tulane freshman school record 925 yards in 2010, Darkwa spent much of his sophomore and junior years battling injuries. He bounced back as a senior, however, carrying the ball 181 times for 863 yards with 12 touchdowns. At Tulane's Pro Day, Darkwa backed up his senior year rebound with a good performance, including a 4.44 second 40-yard dash. Reports indicated that he was originally headed to the Tennessee Titans' rookie minicamp on a tryout basis before the Dolphins offered him a contract.
The Dolphins also announced they had waived punter Matt Scymanski. The former SMU Mustang and Kansas City Chiefs practice squad member signed with the Dolphins at the end of April and was seen simply as a camp body, given the presence of Pro Bowl punter Brandon Fields on the team's roster.
