A Phinsider "Call to Arms"

I'm a Pennsylvania boy through and through. Growing up in "Stillers" and "Iggles" country was a struggle, as I had to deal with being the only one of my friends who liked a team a couple thousand miles away. The only one who rooted for the Dolphins for that matter.

It gets lonely being the only one like me. Trapped in this vast hellscape of black and yellow and green and white. Every car I pass on my way to work has a combination of: An Eagles decal with a Phillies decal OR a Steelers decal with a Phillies decal. Repeat, repeat, repeat.

I know I am not the only one who looks at other cars and then makes preconceived judgments about the passengers of that car based on the team logo they have slapped on the back windshield. If you have a Ravens decal, I automatically cuss you out. If you have a Yankees decal, I laugh about how "original" you are. If you have a Jets decal, I try to ram you off the road as I come up with an alibi to give the police. However, when I see a Dolphins decal, I instinctively honk and give a thumbs up or get in front of that car to show off my own Phins decal, and give a thumbs up out the window. Us Phinatics have to stick together.

As I was driving to work this morning, I passed a guy in a black pickup truck with a nice big updated Dolphins logo on the back windshield. I did my normal thumbs up and kept on driving, happy to know there are decent people in the world.

But then I got to thinking... what if he was a Phinsider?

Not many Phins fans here on the Eastern side of Pennsylvania and this guy was repping the Phins pretty bold. Clearly he seemed to be a passionate fan, maybe he reads the Phinsider? Kevin had what I still believe to be one of the greatest posts ever on this site, when he let us edit a map of the world to show where we were from. There are thousands of us Phinsiders out there. It's one thing to see someone who has a Dolphins decal and be pumped, but it's another to know they are a fellow Phinsider and think "Awesome, Phinsiders unite! This guy gets it."

Which is why I am throwing this idea out there and seeing where it goes. Instead of just having a Dolphins die-cut logo on the back of our cars... why not create and make some "Phinsider" decals to place on our back windshields as well?

We are a great group of guys and we are passionate about our team. I think it would be pretty cool to plant our footprint on our cars and show off our group with pride. I would probably pull over and give you a hug if I saw someone with a "Phinsider" sticker on their back windshield. It's one thing to be a fan of the fins, but another to know you are part of a group that shares the same interests, feelings, and emotions day in and day out all season. Plus, it would show just how strong and passionate we are to other SB Nation bloggers that see our colors displayed proudly on the backs of our cars.

So I leave it up to you guys to throw out your opinions and let me know what you think. I'm not sure if anyone on here has any experience with this kind of thing, or knows people that could help us out, but why not get the ball rolling on this if it's something that would boost our Phinsider community and bring us "closer" together?

As always, Phins-Up!!! or shut up.

This is a FanPost and does not necessarily reflect the views of The Phinsider's writers or editors. It does reflect the views of this particular fan though, which is as important as the views of The Phinsider writers or editors.
