I haven't seen this posted yet so I figured I would share the news with everyone. The Dolphins will go ahead with the planned renovations for Sun Life Stadium. Stephen Ross has decided to pay for the $400 million project by himself with no public funding. The renovations will include the partial roof to cover stadium seats, adding new seats, bringing the sideline seats closer to the field, and upgrading club parking areas. In return to privately funding the project himself, Ross is seeking an exemption from property taxes, a tax that most professional stadiums in Florida do not pay. Last year it was estimated Miami paid approximately $3.8 million in property tax. The plan for the renovations is expected to be announced within the next day or two.
