Miami Dolphins Report Card

Hey Phinsiders, long time no post. I just wanted to put together an evaluation of our team by using a grading system that includes + and - to distinguish players that are close in overall talent but did not quite make it to the tier below or above where I placed them. I will grade each player, which will be followed up by a collective group grade for each position. This is based on last years starters/rotation, some of which will not be back with the team this year. Mind you, this is NOT an in depth analysis of each player, just simply a grade based on how well they performed last year.

KEY: Individual grade/ overall group grade

A+= Top 5 at their position/ Top 5 unit

A= An elite player at their position/ Elite unit

B= A solid starter (better than the average) / Solid unit

C= An average starter/ Average unit

D= Below average (should not be starting)/ Below average unit

F= A career backup or 3rd stringer/ Complete failure as a unit

Starting with the offense:

Quarterback:

Ryan Tannehill: (B-)

RB:

Lamar Miller: (C)

Daniel Thomas: (D)

Overall: (C-)

WR:

Mike Wallace: (B)

Brian Hartline: (B+)

Brandon Gibson: (B-)

Rishard Matthews: (C+)

Overall: (B)

TE:

Charles Clay: (B+)

Dion Sims: (C-)

Overall: (B)

OL:

Bryant McKinnie: (C)

Nate Garner: (D-)

Mike Pouncy: (A+)

John Jerry:(D-)

Tyson Clabo: (C-)

Overall: (C-) Pouncy brings the average up but this was a complete failure as a unit

Onto the defense

S:

Chris Clemons: (B)

Reshad Jones: (C+)

Overall: B

CB:

Brent Grimes: (A+)

Dimitri Patterson: (B+) (Could've been a solid A had he stayed healthy)

Nolan Caroll: (C)

Overall: B

LB:

Phillip Wheeler: (C)

Danelle Ellerbe: (C)

Koa Misi: (C+)

Overall: C

DL:

Olivier Vernon: (B+)

Randy Starks: (B)

Paul Solia: (B+)

Cam Wake: (A+)

Overall: B+

What do you guys think?

Did I pass or fail?
